Marc-Olivier Vallerand
Marc-Olivier Vallerand (born April 17, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) side Sheffield Steelers. Vallerand previously played with ICEHL side HK Olimpija. Undrafted, Vallerand previously played with the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL, and the Odense Bulldogs in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen during the 2013-14 season. After a season with HC Eppan Pirates of the Italian Serie A, Vallerand continued his journeyman career in returning to North America briefly before signing a contract in Switzerland. On July 27, 2016, Vallerand made a return to Italy, signing a one-year deal with Austrian EBEL participants, HCB South Tyrol. On July 27, 2017, Vallerand moved to the UK to sign for Elite Ice Hockey League side Coventry Blaze. Sheffield Steelers
The Sheffield Steelers are a professional ice hockey team located in Sheffield, England. They were formed in 1991 (see 1991 in sport) and play their home games at the Utilita Arena. They are currently a member of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The club's main (title) sponsor is Sheffield Window Centre. History Ice Hockey existed in amateur form in Sheffield, but the sport began its return to an era of arenas and stadium size crowds with the opening of the Sheffield Arena in 1991 and the creation of the Sheffield Steelers — the ice hockey team that was to occupy the new arena. Elite Ice Hockey League
The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Superleague, it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom. The league operate three competitions for members; the play-offs determine the national champion for the season, following a regular season league competition for which separate champions are also crowned, and which selects and seeds the teams in the play-offs. Robert Dowd (ice Hockey)
Robert Dowd (born 26 May 1988) is an English professional ice hockey player currently playing with UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) side Sheffield Steelers. He also previously played in the HockeyAllsvenskan for IF Troja/Ljungby and Elite Ice Hockey League for the Sheffield Steelers and the Belfast Giants and is a three-time EIHL champion, twice with Sheffield in 2009 and 2011 and once with Belfast in 2012. He was the top British points scorer in 2012 with 72 points and was named British Player of the team. He is also a member of the Great Britain national ice hockey team. On 22 April 2012, it was announced Dowd had signed with Swedish team IF Troja/Ljungby who play in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the country's second tier league. AL-Bank Ligaen
Metal Ligaen is the premier league in Danish ice hockey. The league consists of 9 professional teams. The name of the league has changed many times, but is being sponsored by Dansk Metal and therefore got the name Metalligaen. History It is also known as Superisligaen or Eliteserien, which is the name used in the past and in times where no naming rights agreement is in place.
