Manmohan Krishna
Manmohan Krishna (26 February 1922 – 3 November 1990) was a popular Indian film actor and director, who worked in Hindi films for four decades, mostly as a character actor. He started his career as a professor in Physics and held master's degree in physics. He anchored the radio show ''Cadbury's Phulwari'', a singing contest. Many people don't know that Manmohan Krishna sang his first song, 'Jhat khol de' in Afsar (1950), a Dev Anand film with music by S.D. Burman. He was a favourite with the Chopra brothers and played small or large roles in movies directed and/or produced by them. ''Dhool Ka Phool'' () is a 1959 Indian Hindi-language film produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by B. R.'s brother Yash Chopra, being his first movie as a director, having been an assistant director in B. R.'s earlier film '' Naya Daur''. The film stars Rajendra Kumar, Mala Sinha, Nanda, Leela Chitnis, Jeevan, Manmohan Krishna, and Ashok Kumar. The story revolves around a Muslim man bringing up an "illegitimate" Hindu child and featured the classic song ''Too Hindu Banega Na Musalman Banega, Insaan Ki Aulaad Hai, Insaan Banega'' on Manmohan Krishna, who also won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Abdul Rasheed. ''Pardesi'' ( hi, Pardesi, italic=yes; russian: Хождение за три моря (Khozhdenie za tri morya), italic=yes, 'Journey Beyond Three Seas') is a 1957 film jointly directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and Vasili Pronin. It was made in two versions, Hindi and Russian, and is based on the travelogues of Russian traveller Afanasy Nikitin, called ''A Journey Beyond the Three Seas'', which is now considered a Russian literary monument.
