Mammutland
''Mammutland'' ( en, Mammoth Country) is a 2002 and 2004 broadcast animated series produced by KI.KA and ZDF. It originated in German-French-British cooperation and is based on the content of The Way Things Work by David Macaulay. Content Each episode provides topics from science and technology and explains the physical basis of many everyday phenomena and machines through drawings and animations. The series is set on an island, living on the mammoth. To an inventor is working with the residents and with the assistance of the mammoths as a workhorse machines that facilitate the everyday life or to solve problems such as a collapsed bridge or a fire. They apply mainly to physical principles of mechanics, for example, the inclined plane, magnetism or thermodynamics. The Way Things Work
''The Way Things Work'' is a 1988 nonfiction book by David Macaulay with technical text by Neil Ardley. It is an entertaining introduction to everyday machines and the scientific principles behind their operation, describing machines as simple as levers and gears and as complicated as radio telescopes and automatic transmissions. Every page consists primarily of one or more large diagrams describing the operation of the relevant machine. These diagrams are informative but playful, in that most show the machines operated, used upon, or represented by woolly mammoths, and are accompanied by anecdotes from a mysterious inventor of the mammoths' (fictive) role in the operation. David Macaulay
David Macaulay (born 2 December 1946) is a British-born American illustrator and writer. His works include ''Cathedral'' (1973), '' The Way Things Work'' (1988) and ''The New Way Things Work'' (1998). His illustrations have been featured in nonfiction books combining text and illustrations explaining architecture, design and engineering, and he has written a number of children's fiction books. Macaulay was a 2006 recipient of a MacArthur Fellows Program award and received the Caldecott Medal in 1991 for ''Black and White'' (1990). Peter Fritz Willi Lustig (; 27 October 1937 – 23 February 2016) was a German television presenter, voice actor and author of children's books who has become especially well known as leading actor in the weekly children's television show ''Löwenzahn'', which he hosted from 1979 up until 2006.
