''Mina®'' is a studio album by Italian singer Mina, released in 1974 by PDU and distributed by EMI Italiana. Originally distributed as a double album along with ''Baby Gate''. The album topped the Italian albums chart. Cover versions Some of the songs of this album were recorded in different languages by Mina during the 1970s. In 1975, she recorded "Due o forse tre", "Nuur" and "Distanze" in Spanish ("Dos o acaso tres", "Nuur", " Dostancias"), as well "Tutto passerà vedrai" ("Todo pasara veras"). The same first three songs were covered in French one year later (as "Deux peut-être trois", "Lumière", "Ensemble"), as well "Caravel" ("La chiromancienne") and "Solo lui" ("Rien que vous"). All the tracks were published on albums for French and Spanish-speaking countries only and were re-issued on cd by EMI in 2011 (in the compilations ''Je suis Mina'' and ''Yo soy Mina''). ''Baby Gate'' is a studio album by Italian singer Mina, released in October 1974 by PDU and distributed by EMI Italiana. It was originally released as a double album along with '' Mina®''. Overview The name of the album comes from the pseudonym used by the singer at the beginning of her career. As Mina, she recorded songs in Italian, as Baby Gate she recorded songs only in English for foreign releases. The idea was to try to figure out which of the two images and two different forms of expression would be more successful. The pseudonym Baby Gate existed for a relatively short time (from December 1958 to June 1959). The album is recorded in English and is filled with cover versions of popular songs from the 1950s. Overview ''Je suis Mina'' is part of a multilingual triptych along with ''I Am Mina'' and ''Yo soy Mina'', performed in English and Spanish respectively, in this case all the songs are performed in French and are being released on CD for the first time. Roberto Soffici (born 29 October 1946) is an Italian pop singer-songwriter, composer and lyricist. Background Born in Pula, the son of composer and conductor Piero, Soffici enrolled at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, graduating in clarinet, harmony and composition. In the 1970s he started a productive career as a composer, writing songs for Mina, Equipe 84, Nomadi and Ornella Vanoni, among others.
