Korea ( ko, 한국, or , ) is a peninsular region in East Asia. Kim Min Jeong (The romanization preferred by the author according to LTI Korea) (; born 1976) is a South Korean poet and literary editor. Life Kim Min Jeong was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1976. She studied creative writing at Chung-Ang University and also completed master's level coursework there. She began writing for a magazine in her third year of university and later joined Random House Korea as an editor. She edited the Random House series of poetry collections, which served as a springboard for South Korean Futurist poets and made a large impact on the country's poetry scene in the 2000s. As editor of the series, she discovered a number of young poets like Kim Kyung Ju and Hwang Byungsng Hwang Byungsng (4 April 1970 – July 2019) was a South Korean poet. Mina Cheon (born 1973) is a Korean American new media artist, scholar, and educator. Since 1997, she has been living between Baltimore, New York, and Seoul. Early life and education Cheon was born in Seoul, South Korea. She won a bronze medal in the girls' 10 m air pistol shooting at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, and currently trains as a member of the shooting squad under KB Kookmin Bank. Kwak Min-jeong (born January 23, 1994) is a South Korean former competitive figure skater. She is the 2011 South Korean bronze medalist, the 2010 South Korean silver medalist and the 2009 Junior national champion. Hanja (Hangul: ; Hanja: , ), alternatively known as Hancha, are Chinese characters () used in the writing of Korean. Hanja was used as early as the Gojoseon period, the first ever Korean kingdom.
