Michael Haddix
Michael McGlamery Haddix (born December 27, 1961) is an American former professional football player who was a running back for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers. He played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Philadelphia selected Haddix in the first round of the 1983 NFL draft, primarily due to his 4.5 speed. Haddix played eight seasons in the NFL and holds the dubious distinction of having averaged the fewest average yards per carry (3.0) for a player with more than 500 carries in the NFL. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. 1983 NFL Draft
The 1983 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting.
