Metroid Zero Mission
is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance on February 9, 2004. It is a video game remake, remake of the original ''Metroid (video game), Metroid'' (1986), and retells the story with updated visuals and gameplay. Like other ''Metroid'' games, the player controls the bounty hunter Samus Aran. Samus travels to the planet Zebes after learning that the Metroid#Antagonists, Space Pirates are experimenting with Metroid (fictional species), Metroids, hostile parasitic creatures, which they plan to use to take over the universe. The gameplay focuses on exploration, with the player searching for power-ups to reach previously inaccessible areas. The remake adds items, additional areas, mini-bosses, balance (game design), difficulty levels and a rewritten story that explores Samus's past. Nintendo Research & Development 1
(commonly abbreviated as Nintendo R&D1 and formerly known as before splitting in 1978) was a division of Nintendo, and is its oldest video game development, development team. ''Nintendo Power'' was a video game news and strategy magazine from Nintendo of America, first published in July/August 1988 as Nintendo's official print magazine for North America. The magazine's publication was initially done monthly by Nintendo of America, then independently, and in December 2007 contracted to Future US, the American subsidiary of British publisher Future plc. Its 24-year production run is one of the longest of all video game magazines in the United States and Canada. On August 21, 2012, Nintendo announced that it would not be renewing its licensing agreement with Future Publishing, and that ''Nintendo Power'' would cease publication in December. The final issue, volume 285, was released on December 11, 2012. On December 20, 2017, a podcast version of ''Nintendo Power'' was launched, which ran until 2023. Metroid Fusion
is a 2002 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It was developed by Nintendo Research & Development 1, which had developed the previous ''Metroid'' game, ''Super Metroid'' (1994). ''Fusion'' is part of the ''Metroid'' series, and takes place after the events of ''Metroid: Other M'' and before ''Metroid Dread''. Players control the bounty hunter Samus Aran, who investigates a space station infected with shapeshifting parasites known as X. ''Fusion'' marked the return of the ''Metroid'' series after an eight-year hiatus following ''Super Metroid'' (1994). Like previous ''Metroid'' games, ''Fusion'' is a side-scrolling game with platform game, platform jumping, shooting, and puzzle elements.
