Manju Singh
Manju Singh (1948 – 14 April 2022) was an Indian actor and film and television producer. She is known for playing "Didi", the anchor of the children's television programme ''Khel Khilone'' which she conducted for 7 years, and for her role in the1979 Hrishikesh Mukherjee film ''Gol Maal''. Manju Singh launched her career as a television producer in 1983 with ''Show Theme'', the first sponsored show on Indian Television. Hrishikesh Mukherjee
Hrishikesh Mukherjee (30 September 1922 – 27 August 2006) was an Indian film director, editor and writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of Indian cinema. Popularly known as ''Hrishi-da'', he directed 42 films during his career spanning over four decades, and is named the pioneer of the 'middle cinema' of India. Renowned for his social films that reflected the changing middle-class ethos, Mukherjee "carved a middle path between the extravagance of mainstream cinema and the stark realism of art cinema". ''Gol Maal'' () is a 1979 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and written by Rahi Masoom Raza and Sachin Bhowmick. It was produced by N. C. Sippy, with music by R. D. Burman. The film won several awards and was praised by critics. The film was remade in Tamil as '' Thillu Mullu'' (1981), in Kannada as '' Aasegobba Meesegobba'' (1990), in Malayalam as '' Simhavalan Menon'' (1995), and in Sinhala as . Doordarshan
Doordarshan (abbreviated as DD; Hindi: , ) is an Indian public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, owned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and one of Prasar Bharati's two divisions.
