MLB Tuesday
''MLB Tuesday'' is an American television presentation of Major League Baseball (MLB) games produced by TNT Sports primarily for TBS. The show debuted on April 12, 2022 and features a 30-minute studio show before and after each game. Prior to 2022, ESPN, FX and FS1 occasionally aired games on Tuesday nights. MLB Network continues to air games on Tuesday nights either opposite TBS's doubleheader or when TBS does not schedule a game on select Tuesday nights. History ESPN (1990–1993) On January 5, 1989, Major League Baseball signed a $400 million deal with ESPN, who would show over 175 games beginning in 1990. Major League Baseball On Television
Major League Baseball (MLB) has been broadcast on American television since the 1950s, with initial broadcasts on the experimental station W2XBS, the predecessor of the modern WNBC in New York City. The World Series was televised on a networked basis since 1947, with regular season games broadcast nationally since 1953. A doubleheader is a term used by television networks to refer to two games involving the same sport that are shown back-to-back on the same network, even though the events do not involve the same two teams (three such games may be referred to as a tripleheader, this scenario occurring most frequently in regard to basketball). A doubleheader purposely coincides with a league's scheduling of "early" and "late" games. In North America, games usually start at the same time period in different time zones ( Eastern and Pacific). ''Wednesday Night Baseball'' is a live game telecast of Major League Baseball during Wednesday nights in the regular season on ESPN or ESPN2. From 1990 to 2021, ESPN generally aired weekly games on Wednesday nights. Beginning with the 2022 Major League Baseball season, ESPN significantly reduced their MLB schedule, which included cutting most of their Wednesday Night Baseball games.
