Los Piratas
Los Piratas was a Spanish rock band from Vigo, founded in 1991. They were considered one of the most influential groups in the pop and rock scenes in Spain. They released five studio albums (one of them a gold record), two live albums, three compilations and four albums of rarities, before disbanding in 2004. The band's influences included Björk, Aphex Twin, Los Planetas, Radiohead, Oasis and 1980s Spanish pop. The group was in both the mainstream and independent scenes, and evolved from pop rock to a sound with electronic touches and greater musical maturity. Their lyrics were initially about relationships, frustrated loves and loves to come, and later became darker and deeper. Vigo
Vigo ( , , , ) is a city and municipality in the province of Pontevedra, within the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. Oasis (band)
Oasis were an English Rock music, rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Originally known as the Rain, the group initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (musician), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums). Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher, Noel (lead guitar, vocals) later joined as a fifth member, finalising the group's core lineup. During the course of their existence, they had various lineup changes, with the Gallagher brothers remaining the only staple members. Radiohead
Radiohead are an English rock band formed in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards); brothers Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments) and Colin Greenwood (bass); Ed O'Brien (guitar, backing vocals); and Philip Selway (drums, percussion). Los Planetas
Los Planetas (''The Planets'') is a Spanish indie rock group from the city of Granada which started out in the second half of the 1990s and continue now through the 2000s. The group's first hit was "Qué puedo hacer" (''What can I do?'') from their album "Super 8", although they had previously had some success with various demos on a contest run by Spanish national public radio station Radio 3. Aphex Twin
Richard David James (born 18 August 1971), best known as Aphex Twin, is an Irish-born British musician, composer and DJ. He is known for his idiosyncratic work in electronic styles such as techno, ambient, and jungle. Journalists from publications including ''Mixmag'', ''The New York Times'', ''NME'', ''Fact,'' '' Clash'' and ''The Guardian'' have called James one of the most influential or important artists in contemporary electronic music. Lafonoteca is an online music database and guide service website for Spanish popular music. Content As a database, Lafonoteca covers a multitude of styles and genres, from pop, rock and hip-hop to traditional Spanish and world music styles such as flamenco and rumba. It contains over 1000 biographies of different Spanish bands and artists, including place of origin, time in activity and names of its components. In addition, for each band or artist they have an outlined discography and the most representative, which are rated from one to five stars.
