Kumi Taguchi (journalist)
is an Australian journalist, broadcaster and presenter living in Sydney. Taguchi is currently host of ''Insight'' on SBS. Early life Born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to her Japanese father, Akira Taguchi and Australian mother. Taguchi grew up in rural New South Wales learning classical violin from the age of five, and won a scholarship to study music at the University of Wollongong. Career Working at ABC Local Radio she pursued her passions for writing and film. On graduating in 1997, Taguchi worked on ''The 7.30 Report'' and at the Triple J national radio station. In 2004, Taguchi moved to Hong Kong and in 2007 began producing and anchoring news and current affairs programmes for STAR TV, Asia Television and NHK World. Returning to Australia in 2010, Taguchi worked at both the ABC and SBS before settling at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. 2013 New South Wales Bushfires
The 2013 New South Wales bushfires were a series of bushfires in Australia across the state of New South Wales primarily starting, or becoming notable, on 13 October 2013; followed by the worst of the fires beginning in the Greater Blue Mountains Area on 16 and 17 October 2013. High fuel loads, coupled with warm, dry and windy weather, provided dangerous conditions which fuelled the fires. They all swept everywhere across the state. At the peak of the fires, on the morning of 18 October, over 100 fires were burning across the state. The Premier of New South Wales Barry O'Farrell declared a state of emergency on 20 October, empowering firefighters to evict residents and demolish fire-affected buildings. Julia Zemiro () (born 14 April 1967) is a French-born Australian television presenter, radio host, actress, singer, writer and comedian. ''Stargazing Live'' is a British live television programme on astronomy that was broadcast yearly on BBC Two over three nights every winter from 2011 to 2017. Geraldine Doogue
Geraldine Frances Doogue (born 29 April 1952) is an Australian journalist and radio and television presenter. Career After graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Doogue intended to train as a schoolteacher, but instead decided to apply for a cadetship at ''The West Australian'' newspaper. She later worked for ''The Australian'' and spent several years in the United Kingdom as London correspondent for Rupert Murdoch's Australian newspapers. ''Compass'' is an Australian weekly news-documentary program. The program is devoted to providing information about faith, values, ethics, and religion from across the globe. ''Compass'' airs on Sunday night on ABC TV at 6.30pm and is repeated on Wednesday at 1.30pm, it is also found on ABC iview on demand. Virginia Frances Trioli (born 16 August 1965) is an Australian journalist, author, radio and television presenter. Trioli currently hosts the morning program on ABC Radio Melbourne in Melbourne.
