Krylos
Krylos is a small village of Ivano-Frankivsk Raion in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. It is located south of modern Halych and is part of the National preserve ''Ancient Halych''. The village covers an area of . The village council consists of 16 people. Krylos belongs to Halych urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. History Krylos is located on the site of the Princely city center of Halych; according to thwebsiteof Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the settlement was founded in 898 AD. The territory of Krylos extended as far as the Limnytsia River to the west and Dniester River to the north. Immediately to the west of the Krylos settlement flows the Lukva River, which in ancient times was wider and deeper than it is today. The Lukva River served as a natural obstruction to invaders. Halych
Halych ( uk, Га́лич ; ro, Halici; pl, Halicz; russian: Га́лич, Galich; german: Halytsch, ''Halitsch'' or ''Galitsch''; yi, העליטש) is a historic city on the Dniester River in western Ukraine. The city gave its name to the Principality of Halych, the historic province of Galicia (Eastern Europe), Galicia (Halychyna), and the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia, of which it was the capital until the early 14th century, when the seat of the local rulers moved to Lviv. Nowadays, Halych is a small town located only on one part of the territory of the former Galician capital, although it has preserved its name. Halych Raion
Halych Raion ( uk, Га́лицький райо́н, translit=Halyćkyj rajon) was a raion (district) of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (region) in Ukraine. The town of Halych served as the administrative center of the district. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Oblast to six. Yaroslav Osmomysl ( orv, Осмомыслъ Ярославъ, ''Osmomyslŭ Jaroslavŭ''; uk , Ярослав Володимирович Осмомисл, ''Yaroslav Volodymyrkovych Osmomysl'') ( – 1 October 1187) was the most famous Prince of Halych (now in Western Ukraine) from the first dynasty of its rulers, which descended from Yaroslav I's eldest son. White Croats ( hr, Bijeli Hrvati; pl, Biali Chorwaci; cz, Bílí Chorvati; uk, Білі хорвати, Bili khorvaty), or simply known as Croats, were a group of Early Slavic tribes who lived among other West and East Slavic tribes in the area of modern-day Lesser Poland, Galicia (north of Carpathian Mountains), Western Ukraine, and Northeastern Bohemia.
