Khukhundoo
Khukhundoo (old name is Kakandi Nagari), is a small town in the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, approximately east of Deoria city near the border with Bihar state on Deoria Salempur road in Deoria district. Kakandi Jain Circuit Kalyanak Kshetra - Kakandi (present name village - Khukhundoo) here became the austerity and knowledge of Tirthankara Pushpadant . Khukhundoo also well known as Tirthankara Pushpadanta birthplace as a son of King Sugriva and Queen Rama at Kakandi (Khukhundoo) situated on the Jain Circuit. There was a group of temples here. All turned into ruins with only one temple left. A Jain Temple was built here by Rai Bahadur Mulchand in 1874. The main vedi housed idols of Neminath, Pushpadanta and Parshvanath. Kahaum Pillar
Kahaum pillar is an structure located in Khukhundoo in the state of Uttar Pradesh, and dates to the reign of Gupta Empire ruler Skandagupta. The 5th century an pillar known as ''Kahaum pillar'' was erected during the reign of Skandagupta. This pillar has carvings of Parshvanatha and other tirthankars with Jain Brahmi script. Description Kahaum pillar is a grey-sandstone was erected during the reign of Skandagupta, Gupta Empire. According to inscription of the pillar, the pillar was erected by the Skandagupta in the Jyeshtha month of year 141 of the Gupta era (A.D. 460–61). In Jainism, Pushpadanta ( sa, पुष्पदन्त), also known as Suvidhinatha, was the ninth Tirthankara of the present age ('' Avasarpini''). Skandagupta
Skandagupta ( Gupta script: ''Ska-nda-gu-pta'', r. c. 455-467) was a Gupta Emperor of India. His Bhitari pillar inscription suggests that he restored the Gupta power by defeating his enemies, who may have been rebels or foreign invaders. He repulsed an invasion by the Indo-Hephthalites (known as Hunas in India), probably the Kidarites. He seems to have maintained control of his inherited territory, and is generally considered the last of the great Gupta Emperors. Bhatni Bazar is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in the Deoria district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the capital of the Development block Bhatni. ''Parshvanatha'' (), also known as ''Parshva'' () and ''Parasnath'', was the 23rd of 24 ''Tirthankaras'' (supreme preacher of dharma) of Jainism. He is the only Tirthankara who gained the title of ''Kalīkālkalpataru ( Kalpavriksha in this "Kali Yuga").'' Parshvanatha is one of the earliest ''Tirthankaras'' who are acknowledged as historical figures. He was the earliest exponent of Karma philosophy in recorded history.
