Kaspar Taimsoo
Kaspar Taimsoo (born 30 April 1987) is an Estonian rower. He is a four time Olympian and four time European champion. He is a member of Viljandi Rowing Club ( et, Viljandi Sõudeklubi). Rowing career 2004–2008 Taimsoo made his first international appearance in the Junior World Championships in 2004 achieving 14th position in the double sculls event. In 2005 he won a bronze medal in the single sculls event at the Junior World Championships. His first appearance at the World Rowing Championships was in 2007 in Munich, Germany where he competed in the quadruple sculls event with Allar Raja, Igor Kuzmin and Vladimir Latin finishing on 8th position. The same team achieved 5th place at the 2007 European Rowing Championships held in Poznań, Poland. Taimsoo made his first appearance at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 competing in the quadruple sculls event with Raja, Kuzmin and Latin. Rowing (sport)
Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars are attached to the boat using oarlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Rowing is divided into two disciplines: sculling and sweep rowing. In sculling, each rower holds two oars—one in each hand, while in sweep rowing each rower holds one oar with both hands. There are several boat classes in which athletes may compete, ranging from single sculls, occupied by one person, to shells with eight rowers and a coxswain, called eights. 2007 European Rowing Championships
The 2007 European Rowing Championships were held at the Lake Malta in Poznań, Poland, between 21 and 23 September 2007. The European Rowing Championships had previously been held between 1893 and 1973, had become an international regatta in character, and were disestablished when the World Rowing Championships became an annual event. Igor Kuzmin (born 23 November 1982) is an Estonian rower. He is a member of rowing club "SK Narva Energia" located in Narva. Junior years Kuzmin was born in Narva. In 2000 Kuzmin competed in the World Rowing Junior Championships in the single sculls event, finishing in 12th position. In 2002 he competed in the U-23 World Regatta with Andrei Jämsä in the double sculls event, finishing in 7th position. Allar Raja
Allar Raja (born 22 June 1983) is an Estonian rower. He is a member of rowing club "SK Kalev" located in Pärnu. Rowing career 2000–2008 Raja competed in the World Rowing Junior Championships in 2000 in the quadruple sculls event (19th) and in 2001 in the double sculls event (13th). In 2004 he competed in the U-23 World Regatta in the single sculls event achieving 8th position. His first appearance in the World Rowing Championships was in 2005 in Gifu, Japan in the double sculls event with Silver Sonntak. They were second in Final C, achieving 14th position overall.
