Kamperveen
Kamperveen is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Kampen, about 5 km south of the city. Kamperveen was a separate municipality until 1937, when it became a part of IJsselmuiden. History It was first mentioned in 1236 as "in Veno prope Campen", meaning "the bog of Kampen", and was originally a peat colony. Kamperveen is a confusing village, because it is a merger of the hamlets De Heuvels, De Roskam, De Zande, Hogeweg, Posthoorn and Zuideinde, therefore, it does not have a clear centre. There are directional signs to Kamperveen, however each hamlet is marked with its own name. Jan Terlouw
Jan Cornelis Terlouw (born 15 November 1931) is a retired Dutch politician, physicist and author. A member of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1981 to 1982 under Prime Minister Dries van Agt. Terlouw studied Physics and Mathematics at the Utrecht University simultaneously obtaining Master of Physics and Mathematics degree and worked as a researcher at the FOM before finishing his thesis and graduated as a Doctor of Science in Nuclear physics. Terlouw worked as a nuclear physics researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from February 1960 until April 1962 and for the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) from August 1965 until December 1966. Peat (), also known as turf (), is an accumulation of partially decayed vegetation or organic matter. It is unique to natural areas called peatlands, bogs, mires, moors, or muskegs. IJsselmuiden
IJsselmuiden is a town in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Kampen, northeast of that city across the river IJssel. IJsselmuiden was a separate municipality until 2001, when it became a part of Kampen. IJsselmuiden has an old church, dating back to 1200.
