Kajang Bypass
Kajang Bypass is the 7.5-km main arterial bypass in Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia. It connects the Cheras–Kajang Expressway / and the Kajang–Seremban Highway . Kajang Bypass is one of the three highway projects being constructed to ease the congestion of Kajang town centre. Route background The Kajang Bypass begins as the continuation of the Cheras–Kajang Expressway /. At Exit 708 Saujana Impian Interchange, the Cheras–Kajang Expressway / is downgraded into an arterial road and becomes the Kajang Bypass before once again being upgraded to a controlled-access expressway and continues as the Kajang–Seremban Highway . Kajang
Kajang is a town in Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia. Kajang, along with much of Hulu Langat District, is governed by the Kajang Municipal Council. Kajang town is located on the eastern banks of the Langat River. It is surrounded by Cheras, Semenyih, Bangi, Putrajaya and Serdang. According to the 2020 census, the local authority area (which includes Kajang) has a population of 1.05 million people. Etymology The name ''Kajang'' is believed to have originated from the language of Temuan tribes (Orang Asli) who populated the Langat valley in the 17th-18th centuries. Cheras–Kajang Expressway
The Cheras–Kajang Expressway is an controlled-access highway in the Klang Valley region of Peninsular Malaysia. It runs between the suburb of Cheras at the Kuala Lumpur–Selangor border and the township of Kajang in Selangor. History The expressway is part of a major expansion of Jalan Cheras, which consisted of a two-lane intercity road between Kajang and Cheras. Construction of the expressway commenced in late 1998 and, at a cost of RM275 million, was completed and began tolling on 15 January 1999.
