KOFX (92.3 MHz "92.3 the Fox") is a commercial FM radio station in El Paso, Texas. It follows a classic hits radio format that leans toward classic rock, and plays artists such as Van Halen, The Rolling Stones, and Pat Benatar, but not Madonna. It is owned by Entravision Communications, with the license held by Entravision Holdings, LLC. It shares studio facilities with four other Entravision radio stations and two television stations, KINT-TV and KTFN, all of which are on North Mesa Street ( Texas State Highway 20) in Northwest El Paso. The transmitter is off Grand Teton Drive, atop the Franklin Mountains in the El Paso city limits. KOFX has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 98,000 watts (100,000 with beam tilt). KHRO
KHRO (1150 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in El Paso, Texas. This station is owned by Entravision Communications. Its studio facilities are located on North Mesa Street/Highway 20 in northwest El Paso. The transmitter is located east of downtown in Ascarate Park, near Texas State Highway Loop 375. KHRO simulcasts the radio format heard on sister station KOFX 92.3 FM. History The station first signed on in June 1958 as KIZZ. It was owned by Coronado Broadcasters and was a CBS Radio Network affiliate. The station originally was a daytimer, powered at 1,000 watts, and required to sign off at sunset to avoid interfering with other stations on AM 1150. In the 1980s, it was given Federal Communications Commission (FCC) permission to broadcast around the clock, using 380 watts during nighttime hours. KINT-FM (93.9 FM) is a radio station in El Paso, Texas, also serving Las Cruces, New Mexico and widely heard over the U.S.-Mexican border in Ciudad Juarez and surrounding communities. KYSE (94.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in El Paso, Texas. It airs the "La Tricolor" Regional Mexican radio format from its owner, Entravision Communications. (Tricolor refers to the three colors on the flag of Mexico.) The studio and offices are located on North Mesa Street ( Texas State Highway 20) in northwest El Paso. KYSE's transmitter is located in the Franklin Mountains, off Scenic Drive in El Paso. State Highway 20 (SH 20) is a highway maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that runs from New Mexico State Road 460 at the state line between Texas and New Mexico at Anthony in El Paso County to Interstate 10 at McNary in Hudspeth County.
