Jordan Veretout
Jordan Marcel Gilbert Veretout (born 1 March 1993) is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ligue 1 club Marseille and the France national team. Veretout is a former France youth international, having represented his nation regularly at under-18, under-19, under-20 and under-21 level. In 2013, he won the FIFA U-20 World Cup. In 2021, he won the UEFA Nations League, coming on as a substitute in the final. Early life Veretout was born in Ancenis, Loire-Atlantique. Club career Nantes Veretout made his first-team debut for French club Nantes on 13 May 2011 in a league match against Sedan. He made his first start the following season in the team's opening match of the campaign; a 1–0 extra time win over Reims in the Coupe de la Ligue. The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the biennial football world championship tournament for FIFA members’ men's national teams with players under the age of 20. The competition has been staged every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1977 when it was hosted by Tunisia, under the tournament name of FIFA World Youth Championship until 2005. Timothy Alan Sherwood (born 6 February 1969) is an English professional football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. As a player, he was a midfielder from 1987 until 2005, notably as captain of Blackburn Rovers' Premier League title-winning side in 1995. The 2011–12 Coupe de la Ligue was the 18th edition of the French league cup competition. The defending champions were Marseille, who defeated Montpellier 1–0 in the 2010–11 edition of the final.
