Jia Xiuquan
Jia Xiuquan (; born 9 November 1963) is a Chinese football manager and former international player. Player career Club career As a player, Jia Xiuquan predominately played the majority of his career for Bayi Football Team. During his time at Bayi, he saw them win two league titles, his first title in 1981 and his second in the 1986 league season. He would also personally win the Chinese Football Association Golden Ball award in 1983, 1984 and 1986. After achieving these honours he was one of the first Chinese players to attract interest from foreign teams. Jia would eventually transfer to Yugoslav First League team FK Partizan where he moved in 1988 together with Liu Haiguang. They were among the pioneers among Chinese players in Europe, as by then, only Xie Yuxin and Gu Guangming, playing with FC Zwolle (Netherlands) and SV Darmstadt 98 (Germany) respectively, had been playing in Europe since 1987. Dalian
Dalian () is a major sub-provincial port city in Liaoning province, People's Republic of China, and is Liaoning's second largest city (after the provincial capital Shenyang) and the third-most populous city of Northeast China. The 1987–88 Yugoslav First League season was the 42nd season of the First Federal League ( sh, Prva savezna liga), the top level association football competition of SFR Yugoslavia, since its establishment in 1946. The season began on 2 August 1987 and ended on 12 June 1988. Red Star led by Velibor Vasović won their 16th title with a single points ahead of previous season's champions Partizan. Teams A total of eighteen teams contested the league, including sixteen sides from the 1986–87 season and two sides promoted from the 1986–87 Yugoslav Second League (YSL) as winners of the two second level groups East and West. PEC Zwolle is a Dutch football club based in Zwolle, Netherlands. They play in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, following relegation from the Eredivisie in the 2021–22 season. Gu Guangming
Gu Guangming (; born January 31, 1959 in Guangzhou) is a former Chinese professional football player and manager. Nicknamed "The Weatherfish" because of his ability to dribble out of tight spaces on the flanks and in the corners while avoiding tackles, Gu played for the Guangdong provincial team in the semi-professional Chinese Jia League from 1976 to 1985 and became the second Chinese player to play in a European professional league when he played for SV Darmstadt 98 in the German 2. Xie Yuxin
Xie Yuxin (; born 12 October 1968 in Xingning, Guangdong) is a retired Chinese international footballer. He made more than 100 appearances for his country in international competitions. On 6 February 1987, Yuxin signed for PEC Zwolle '82, becoming the first Chinese person to play professional football abroad. He also held the record for being the youngest footballer, 1987-1996, at the age of 18 and youngest scorer, 1988-2003, at the age of 19, for the China national football team. Liu Haiguang
Liu Haiguang (; born July 11, 1963) is a former Chinese international footballer who spent the majority of his career playing for the Shanghai Team, however he gained distinction when he joined Yugoslav club FK Partizan along with Jia Xiuquan making them one of the earliest Chinese footballers to play in Europe. Biography Liu Haiguang started his youth career with the Shanghai Team and would soon break into the Chinese U-20 team where he took part in the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship where he scored one goal as China were knocked-out in the group stages. He would soon become a regular for Shanghai and also be promoted to the Chinese senior team where he was included in the squad for the 1984 AFC Asian Cup, which saw China finish runners-up.
