Jasmine Peters (born 7 July 2002) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL Women's Premiership. A , she previously played for the Gold Coast Titans. Background Peters was born in Brisbane, Queensland and is of Torres Strait Islander and Filipino descent. She played her junior rugby league for Norths Devils Mackay and attended Mackay North State High School. Playing career Early years Originally a junior soccer player, Peters switched to rugby league with the assistance of her father Marco, hiding the switch of sports from her mother Paula. The Telstra NRL Women's Premiership (NRLW) is Australia's national rugby league competition for female players. The first season of the league began in September 2018 with four teams. The league is run by the National Rugby League (NRL) and is contested by a subset of clubs from that competition. The current premiers are the Newcastle Knights. 2022 NRL Women's Season
The 2022 NRLW Premiership was the fifth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season started on Saturday, 20 August and ran for seven weekends. This comprised five rounds, semi-finals for the top four teams, and a Grand Final that was played on Sunday 2 October as a curtain raiser to the 2022 men's Grand Final. This was the last season before the NRLW goes professional. Teams The Line-up of teams will remain the same as the postponed 2021 season (held from February to April in 2022). The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. First founded as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (ESDRLFC), it is the only club to have played in each and every season at the elite level, and since the 1970s has often been dubbed the glamour club of the league. The 2021 NRLW premiership was the fourth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season was planned to start in August 2021, postponed to October 2021 and further postponed to 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The competition was held from February to April 2022, with the 2022 NRL Women's season later commencing in August 2022. Central Queensland Capras
Central Queensland Capras are a semi-professional rugby league football club primarily based in Rockhampton, Queensland and representing Central Queensland. They currently play in the Queensland Cup, the premier rugby league competition in Queensland. From 2023, they will serve as one of the feeder clubs for the Dolphins. The club was founded in 1996 under the name Central Capras; in 2000 the name was changed to the Central Comets and, in 2011, it was reverted to the Central Queensland Capras. New Zealand Māori women’s rugby league team, also known as Wahine Toa, is a rugby league representative side made up of New Zealand Māori players.
