Julio Llorente
Julio Llorente Gento (born 14 June 1966) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played mainly as a right-back. Club career Born in Valladolid, Castile and León, Llorente finished his development with La Liga giants Real Madrid, making his debut in the competition in the 1987–88 season with fellow top-division club RCD Mallorca, on loan. He returned to the Spanish capital upon his team's relegation, going on to play 33 competitive games during his two-year tenure and win five major titles, including two consecutive national championships. He appeared in six European Cup matches with the ''Merengues'', scoring in a 6–0 home win against CA Spora Luxembourg in the 1989–90 edition. Llorente signed with CD Tenerife in summer 1990, helping to the Canary Islands side's domestic and European consolidation. Valladolid
Valladolid ( ; ) is a Municipalities of Spain, municipality in Spain and the primary seat of government and ''de facto'' capital of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Castile and León. 1989–90 European Cup
The 1989–90 European Cup was the 35th edition of Europe's premier club football tournament, the European Cup. The final was played at the Praterstadion in Vienna on 23 May 1990. The final was contested by Italian defending champions Milan and Portuguese twice former winners Benfica. Milan successfully defended their title with a 1–0 victory, securing their fourth European Cup trophy. Milan remained the last team to successfully defend their trophy until Real Madrid did it again in 2017. Francisco "Paco" Gento López (21 October 1933 – 18 January 2022) was a Spanish association football, footballer who played as an outside left. A fast runner, Gento was referred to as the "Gale of the Cantabrian Sea" () in reference to his speed down the wing. He was voted by IFFHS (International Federation of Football History & Statistics, International Federation of Football History and Statistics) as the greatest Spanish footballer and 30th greatest world footballer of the 20th century. Gento is also widely regarded as one of the greatest wingers in the history of the sport.
