Johnny Yim
Johnny Yim Lai-hang (born 12 August 1977) is a Hong Kong pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. Life and career Yim was born in Hong Kong, coming from a family with a musical background, with one parent a musician and the other a dance choreographer. He has a sister named Alice. Yim's journey in music began at the age of six when he started learning the piano. While growing up in Canada, he pursued a major in Mathematics at York University and didn't consider a formal music degree due to concerns about making a living. However, his passion for music remained strong, leading him to embark on a self-study path. Upon returning to Hong Kong, Yim achieved his first milestone by winning the 16th C.A.S.H. Songwriting Quest in 2004, which served as a catalyst for his music career. Stars Academy (season 1)
'' Stars Academy'' is a Hong Kong singing competition television series to find young singing talents. The first season premiered on 10 April 2021 and continued until 19 July 2021 for 14 episodes. Hosted by Sammy Leung, the show featured Hacken Lee as the coaching supervisor, along with AGA, Pakho Chau, Vincy Chan, JW, Gin Lee, and Janice Vidal as coaches. Throughout the competition, several performances gained popularity among the viewers, including Chantel Yiu's "Love Prediction" (), Gigi Yim's "Without You, I Still Love You" (), and Yumi Chung's "Wild City" (). The show was won by Gigi Yim. Following the finale, the contestants held a 4-day live concert titled First Live on Stage from 12 to 15 August 2021. Asian Youth Orchestra
The Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) is a youth orchestra composed of musicians from several Asian countries. It was founded by Yehudi Menuhin and Richard Pontzious in 1987, and its first concert took place in August 1990, conducted by Menuhin. Currently, the orchestra's artistic director is Richard Pontzious, its principal conductor is James Judd, and its conductor laureate is Sergiu Comissiona.
