Jody Cortez
Jody Cortez (born 1960) is an American studio musician. A drummer, Cortez began his professional career at the age of 21 as a member of Boz Scaggs' live band in 1981. Cortez played drums on glam metal band Cinderella's 1986 debut album '' Night Songs'' after band drummer Jim Drnec was unable to complete the drum parts in studio and was fired. Fred Coury would later be hired as the band's permanent drummer. Though never an official member of Cinderella, the earliest pressing of ''Night Songs'' features a photo of Cortez on the back cover, though Coury was pictured on the album's front cover photo and listed as a band member in the liner notes. Cortez has worked with David Crosby and played on the live version of the hit single "Hero" by Crosby and Phil Collins. In 1994, Cortez toured with CSN for the 25th Anniversary Tour, including Woodstock 2. In December 2009, he was announced as the new drummer for Yoso, although he left the band early in 2010. Cinderella (band)
Cinderella was an American rock band formed in 1983 in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band emerged in the mid-1980s with a series of multi-platinum studio albums and hit singles whose music videos received heavy MTV rotation and popularity. Cinderella initially had a glam metal sound throughout the late 1980s before shifting into a more blues rock-based sound during the early to mid 1990s. By the mid-1990s, the band's fame declined precipitously due to personal setbacks, break-ups, and changes in the American music industry. After a brief hiatus, Cinderella reunited in 1996 and continued to perform live, but never released any studio material after their 1994 album '' Still Climbing''. ''Trapped in the Body of a White Girl'' is a studio album by American comedian Julie Brown, released in 1987. Brown independently re-released the CD in 2007 via her own pressing and available through her website. The rights to the album were sold in a larger deal to the Noble Rot label, which re-released it officially in 2010. Though Brown is a comedian, not all of the songs are strictly comedic in nature. The singles "I Like 'Em Big and Stupid", "Trapped in the Body of a White Girl" and "Girl Fight Tonight!" were released. "Homecoming Queen" was a B-side to "Stupid" and was far more successful and popular, but did not feature on a single of its own. Brown did not release another music recording until 2005. Julie Ann Brown (born August 31, 1958) is an American actress, comedian, screen/television writer, singer-songwriter, and television director. Brown is known for her work in the 1980s, where she often played a quintessential valley girl character. Much of her comedy has revolved around the mocking of famous people (with a strong and frequently revisited focus on Madonna). The album was co-produced by Patrick Leonard and Peter Cetera, and contains an appearance by Leonard's most famous artist at the time, Madonna (appearing on the song "Scheherazade" as 'Lulu Smith'). Peter Paul Cetera ( ; born September 13, 1944) is an American retired musician best known for being a lead vocalist and the bassist of the rock band Chicago from 1967 until his departure in 1985, before launching a successful solo career. His career as a recording artist encompasses 17 albums with Chicago and eight solo albums. With "If You Leave Me Now", a song written and sung by Cetera on the group's tenth album, Chicago garnered its first Grammy Award. It was also the group's first number one single. Christopher Williams is an American singer and former actor. Williams, who emerged during the late 1980s as a recording artist for Geffen Records, has scored many R&B hit singles, notably "Talk to Myself" (1989), "I'm Dreamin'" (1991) and " Every Little Thing U Do" (1993). Career Music The single "I'm Dreamin'", from the '' New Jack City'' soundtrack, became a No. 1 single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks charts. Sam Kinison
Samuel Burl Kinison ( ; December 8, 1953 – April 10, 1992) was an American stand-up comedian and actor. A former Pentecostal preacher, he performed stand-up routines that were characterized by intense sudden tirades, punctuated with his distinctive scream, similar to charismatic preachers. Initially performing for free, Kinison became a regular fixture at The Comedy Store where he met and eventually befriended such comics as Robin Williams and Jim Carrey. Kinison's comedy was crass observational humor, especially towards women and dating, and his popularity grew quickly, earning him appearances on ''The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'', ''Late Night with David Letterman'' and ''Saturday Night Live''. At the peak of his career, Kinison was killed in a car crash. Louie Louie (born Louis Cordero) is a Puerto Rican/American musician, record producer, and actor. He released four full-length albums (two of them on major record labels and one under his full name of Louie Cordero) in the last twenty years, as well as a number of singles, but only two of the singles, 1990's "Sittin' in the Lap of Luxury" and "I Wanna Get Back with You", charted in the United States.
