Iddin-Sin
Iddin-Sin ( akk, 𒀭𒄿𒋾𒀭𒂗𒍪: '' DI-ti-n Sîn'') was a King (𒈗 ''Šàr'', pronounced ''Shar'') of the Kingdom of Simurrum around 2000 to 1900 BCE. Simurrum was an important city state of the Mesopotamian area, during the period of the Akkadian Empire down to Ur III. The Simurrum Kingdom disappears from records after the Old Babylonian period. According to an inscription ( the stela now located in the Sulaymaniyah Museum), Iddin-Sin seems to have been contemporary with the Lullubi king Annubanini. Several rulers of the Simurrum Kingdom are known, such as Iddin-Sin and his son Zabazuna. Various inscriptions suggest that they were contemporary with king Ishbi-Erra (1953—c. 1920 BCE). In inscriptions, the name of Iddin-Sin is written 𒀭𒄿𒋾𒀭𒂗𒍪, with one silent honorific (𒀭, "Divine") before the phonological part of the name, 𒄿𒋾𒀭𒂗𒍪, where the second 𒀭 (''An'') has the value of "n". Letter From Iddin-Sin To Zinu
The letter from Iddin-Sin to Zinu, also known by its technical designation TCL 18 111, is an Old Babylonian letter written by the student Iddin-Sin to his mother Zinu. It is thought to have been written in the city of Larsa in the 18th century BC, around the time of Hammurabi's reign ( 1792–1750). Disappointed with the quality of the clothes his mother had weaved for him vis-à-vis those of his peers, Iddin-Sin in the letter tried to use various methods to manipulate his mother into feeling guilty and sending him new clothes. The letter is often cited as a document giving insight into daily life in ancient Mesopotamia and as an example of the unchanging essence of human nature through the ages. Simurrum
The Simurrum Kingdom ( akk, 𒋛𒈬𒌨𒊑𒅎: ''Si-mu-ur-ri-im'') was an important city state of the Mesopotamian area from around 2000 BCE to 1500 BCE, during the period of the Akkadian Empire down to Ur III. The Simurrum Kingdom disappears from records after the Old Babylonian period. It was neighbour and sometimes ally with the Lullubi kingdom. It has been proposed that the city was on the Sirwan River (in Iran) which becomes the Diyala river in Iraq. The Third Dynasty of Ur, also called the Neo-Sumerian Empire, refers to a 22nd to 21st century BC (middle chronology) Sumerian ruling dynasty based in the city of Ur and a short-lived territorial-political state which some historians consider to have been a nascent empire. Anobanini Rock Relief
The Anubanini petroglyph, also called Sar-e Pol-e Zohab II or Sarpol-i Zohab relief, is a rock relief from the Akkadian Empire period (circa 2300 BC) or the Isin-Larsa period (early second millennium BC) and is located in Kermanshah Province, Iran. The rock relief is believed to belong to the Lullubi culture and is located 120 kilometers away from the north of Kermanshah, close to Sarpol-e Zahab. Lullubi reliefs are the earliest rock reliefs of Iran, later ones being the Elamite reliefs of Eshkaft-e Salman and Kul-e Farah. Anubanini, also Anobanini ( akk, 𒀭𒉡𒁀𒉌𒉌: ''An-nu-ba-ni-ni''), was a king (𒈗 ''Šàr'', pronounced ''Shar'') of the pre-Iranian tribal kingdom of Lullubi in the Zagros Mountains circa 2300 BCE, or relatively later during the Isin-Larsa period of Mesopotamia, circa 2000-1900 BCE.
