Huatugou Airport () is an airport in Mangnai, a county-level city of Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, China. The airport is located near the town of Huatugou, at an altitude of above sea level. Construction began on 30 December 2011 with an estimated total investment of 700 million yuan. The airport was opened on 26 June 2015. Facilities The airport has a runway that is 3,600 meters long, and a 3,000 square-meter terminal building. Qinghai
Qinghai (; alternately romanized as Tsinghai, Ch'inghai), also known as Kokonor, is a landlocked province in the northwest of the People's Republic of China. It is the fourth largest province of China by area and has the third smallest population. Its capital and largest city is Xining. Qinghai borders Gansu on the northeast, Xinjiang on the northwest, Sichuan on the southeast and the Tibet Autonomous Region on the southwest. Qinghai province was established in 1928 during the period of the Republic of China, and until 1949 was ruled by Chinese Muslim warlords known as the Ma clique. The Chinese name "Qinghai" is after Qinghai Lake, the largest lake in China. Mangnai
Mangnai also known as Mang'ai or Mangya () is a county-level city in the northwest of Qinghai Province, China, bordering Xinjiang to the north and west. It is under the administration of Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It is one of the most remote cities in China, the closest other city, Ruoqiang, is located away. In 2018 it had a population of 63,000. The name Mangnai is based on the Mongolian word for 'forehead'. It was formed in 2018 when the Mangnai and Lenghu administrative zones merged to establish the county-level city of Mangnai. Xining Caojiabao International Airport , also called Caojiapu Airport, is an airport serving Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, China. It is located in Huzhu County, Haidong, on the Tibetan Plateau about east of downtown Xining. The airport began operation in 1991, and in October 2011 a new 3,800 meter long runway was built to replace the old one. History The first airport of Xining was located west of the current airport near the town of Lejiawan. Built on orders of warlord Ma Bufang in 1931, it started limited civilian use in 1933. In 1957, the runway was expanded to and more facilities were added. The only regular route was between Xining and Lanzhou with less than 1,000 passengers annually travelling through the airport.
