Gallery Project
Gallery or Menalto Gallery is an open-source project enabling management and publication of digital photographs and other media through a PHP-enabled web server. Photo manipulation includes automatic thumbnails, resizing, rotation, and flipping, among other things. Albums can be organized hierarchically and individually controlled by administrators or privileged users. History Gallery 3 is the current release of Gallery. It is a complete rewrite of Gallery 2 intended to be small, intuitive, fast, and easily customizable. Gallery 3.0 was released on October 5, 2010. Gallery 3.0.9 was released on June 28, 2013. Robert Gallery
Robert J. Gallery (born July 26, 1980) is a former American football offensive guard who played for eight seasons in the National Football League. He played college football for the University of Iowa, and received unanimous All-American recognition. He was selected by the Oakland Raiders second overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks. Early years Gallery was born in Manchester, Iowa. He attended East Buchanan High School in Winthrop, Iowa, and starred in football, basketball, and track. In football, he played tight end and linebacker, and also handled punting and kickoff duties. He was an all-conference honorable mention selection as a sophomore before being named first-team all-conference as a junior and senior. Mary Onahan Gallery
Mary Onahan Gallery (, Onahan, known as Molly; July 22, 1866 – January 12, 1941) was an American writer, critic and editor. She primarily wrote articles for newspapers and magazines. Gallary was also the mother of three rear admirals in the U.S. Navy. Biography Early life and education Mary Josephine Onahan was born in Chicago, Illinois, July 22, 1866. She was the daughter of William J. Onahan, a Chicago civic leader, and Margaret (Duffy) Onahan. There were five older siblings, all of whom died in infancy. Gallery was educated at the Sacred Heart Academy in Chicago, graduating at an early age. Her aunt was one of the most valued and accomplished members of the order. Her family then moved temporarily to St. Louis, Missouri, where she continued her education. Gallery was also self-taught, reading many books from William Onahan's extensive library. ''The Gallery'' is the second full-length studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity, released on 27 November 1995. It was the first full-length release to feature Mikael Stanne on vocals, as he was previously the rhythm guitarist. In 2004, ''The Gallery'' was re-released with a slightly different cover art and five cover songs as bonus tracks. Songs The song "Punish My Heaven" was preceded by the track "Yesterworld" from the ''A Moonclad Reflection'' demo and later on the '' Yesterworlds'' compilation album. ''Gallery'' is an adult sex magazine published by Magna Publishing Group. It is one of the more popular "skin" magazines that arose on the ''Playboy'' magazine pattern in the 1970s. Publication history ''Gallery'' was launched by Ronald L. Fenton and trial attorney F. Lee Bailey in Chicago, Illinois. The first issue appeared on newsstands in November, 1972 bearing an uncanny resemblance to ''Playboy'' magazine, even using the same style font for the cover. Many people therefore assumed ''Gallery'' was also published by Hugh Hefner as a companion publication to ''Playboy''. After Hefner sent a letter to Bailey pointing out the magazine's similarities, the layout of ''Gallery'' was quickly changed. Financial difficulties plagued the magazine from the start, causing Bailey to leave during its inaugural year. ''The Gallery'' (formerly The Gallery: Six Elements) is an episodic virtual reality video game developed and published by Cloudhead Games for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Oculus Touch. The game uses the Unity game engine, and was inspired by 80s fantasy adventures like ''The Goonies'' and ''The Dark Crystal''. Development The game had a successful Kickstarter campaign and raised about $85,000. In August 2015, the game dropped the "Six Elements" subtitle in favor of subtitles for each episode. Gallery was an American soft rock band, formed in Detroit, Michigan by Jim Gold. While Gallery did record a number of songs, they are most famous for their 1972 hit single " Nice to Be with You", written by Gold. The song was arranged and produced by Dennis Coffey and Mike Theodore and released by Sussex Records. It became an international hit single, reaching the top five in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand; sales of one million copies earned the band a gold record. The song reached No. 4 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and remained in the Hot 100 for 22 weeks, tying with War's "Slippin' into Darkness" for most weeks on the chart during 1972. ''Billboard'' ranked it as the No. 14 song for 1972. "Nice to Be with You" reached No. 1 on Cashbox, WCFL, and WLS. An art gallery is a room or a building in which visual art is displayed. In Western cultures from the mid-15th century, a gallery was any long, narrow covered passage along a wall, first used in the sense of a place for art in the 1590s. The long gallery in Elizabethan and Jacobean houses served many purposes including the display of art. Historically, art is displayed as evidence of status and wealth, and for religious art as objects of ritual or the depiction of narratives. The first galleries were in the palaces of the aristocracy, or in churches. As art collections grew, buildings became dedicated to art, becoming the first art museums. Among the modern reasons art may be displayed are aesthetic enjoyment, education, historic preservation, or for marketing purposes. John Horne Burns
John Horne Burns (October 7, 1916 – August 11, 1953) was an American writer, the author of three novels. The first, ''The Gallery'' (1947), is his best known work, was very well received when published, and has been reissued several times. Biography Burns was born in 1916 in Andover, Massachusetts. He was the eldest of seven children in an upper-middle-class Irish Catholic family. He was educated by the Sisters of Notre Dame at St. Augustine's School and then Phillips Academy, where he pursued music. He attended Harvard, where he became fluent in French, German, and Italian and wrote the book for a student musical comedy in 1936. In 1937 he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in English ''magna cum laude'' and became a teacher at the Loomis School in Windsor, Connecticut.
