Graham Jones (rugby Union)
Graham Jones (24 November 1933 — 1 July 2022) was a Welsh international rugby union player. A native of Garndiffaith, Jones was educated at Abersychan Technical School and undertook National Service with the Royal Air Force (RAF). He became a back row forward during his time in the RAF, having previously played centre for Pontypool. In the 1960s, Jones played his rugby with Ebbw Vale and had a run of 150 consecutive matches. Jones won three Wales caps in 1963, debuting against Scotland at Murrayfield. Graham Alan Jones (born 28 December 1947) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. Biography Jones, born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, began his British leagues career riding for Boston Barracudas during the 1971 British League Division Two season. The following season in 1972, he initially was loaned to Berwick Bandits before signing for them and would remain with the Northumberland club for the rest of his career. He would become a fan's favourite and by the time he retired would also be regarded as a club legend. Jones started with a season average of 4.26 in 1972 and improved to a high of 8.79 during the 1978 season. Graham Jones (born 28 October 1957) is a former professional English road racing cyclist from Manchester, England. He rode in the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia. He is often described as one of the classiest riders that Britain has ever produced, but his career was hindered by being over raced in his early days, and by injury in his later days. He is one of the few English-speaking riders to have stood on the podium of the Flanders Classics Het Volk. Origins Graham was born in Cheadle, just south of Manchester. As a youth he was on the books of Manchester United F.C. as a part of their youth program. Graham gave up football in favour of cycling. Haircut One Hundred (also Haircut 100) are a British pop group formed in 1980 in Beckenham, London, by Nick Heyward, Les Nemes and Graham Jones. In 1981 and 1982, the band scored four UK top-10 singles: " Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)", " Love Plus One", " Nobody's Fool", and " Fantastic Day". History Formation and ''Pelican West'' Nick Heyward and Les Nemes had been in several bands together since 1977. They gigged under the names Rugby, Boat Party, and Captain Pennyworth, but did not release any music. Their last band together, Moving England, with Sex Gang Children's Rob Stroud, released one single. Heyward and Nemes moved to London in 1980 where they recruited friend and guitarist Graham Jones. Graham Peter Jones (born 3 March 1966) is a former British Labour Party politician who was Member of Parliament (MP) for Hyndburn from 2010 until 2019. Early life and education Jones's father's family originate from the Mill Hill area of Blackburn, and his mother's family from Accrington. His grandfather worked at Howard and Bulloughs Cotton Mil.
