Fonejacker
''Fonejacker'' is a British comedy programme broadcast on E4 featuring a series of prank calls involving a number of different characters performed by British Iranian television actor Kayvan Novak. It first appeared in May 2006 and became a full series in 2007. In 2005 Kayvan Novak and Ed Tracy created, wrote and directed Fonejacker, a prank call show, as part of Channel 4 Comedy Lab. After making the pilot together they were given a Christmas special and a six-part series which began airing in the UK on 5 July 2007 on E4 and lasted 6 episodes. They went on to make a second series which began airing on 17 September 2008 on E4, and started on Channel 4 on 6 November 2008. Kayvan Novak said that he was "not sure there will be a third series of Fonejacker" but despite this, several websites reported in October 2009 that a third series would air in May 2010. ''Facejacker'' is a Channel 4 comedy series which started on 16 April 2010. It follows the similar show '' Fonejacker''. Kayvan Novak adopts various disguises (with the aid of prosthetics), including several characters heard in ''Fonejacker''. To promote the show, Novak appeared at ''Channel 4's Comedy Gala'' as Terry Tibbs on 5 April. Series 2 finished filming in July 2011 and premiered on 27 March 2012. Kayvan Novak ( fa, کیوان نواک; born 23 November 1977) is a British actor and comedian.Kadivar, DariuSyriana breaks Iranian stereotypes, ''Persian Mirror''. Retrieved 3 August 2007. Ed Tracy
Ed Tracy is a British television writer and television director who collaborated with the comedian Kayvan Novak to create all of the '' Fonejacker'' and ''Facejacker'' television shows. Initially working together on Tracy's short film ''Obscene'' in 2003, the pair co-created, wrote and directed the pilot episode of ''Fonejacker'' in 2005. This working partnership continued across two television series of ''Fonejacker'' and two series of ''Facejacker''. Alongside writing and directing, Tracy took a lead role in editing, animation, design, camera, and music composition. The shows were produced by Hat Trick Productions. Prank Call
A prank call (also known as a crank call) is a telephone call intended by the caller as a practical joke played on the person answering. It is often a type of nuisance call. It can be illegal under certain circumstances. Recordings of prank phone calls became a staple of the obscure and amusing cassette tapes traded among musicians, sound engineers, and media traders in the United States from the late 1970s. Among the most famous and earliest recorded prank calls are the Tube Bar prank calls tapes, which centered on Louis "Red" Deutsch. Comedian Jerry Lewis was an incorrigible phone prankster, and recordings of his hijinks, dating from the 1960s and possibly earlier, still circulate to this day. Hat Trick Productions is an independent British production company that produces television and radio programmes, mainly specialising in comedy, based in London. History Hat Trick Productions was founded in 1986 by Rory McGrath, Jimmy Mulville, and Denise O'Donoghue. Its first commission was ''Chelmsford 123'', a situation comedy for Channel 4.
