Fabio Bidini
Fabio Bidini (born in Arezzo on 11 June 1968) is an Italian pianist. He was a finalist at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth in 1993. He teaches at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, where he holds a piano chair endowed by philanthropist Carol Colburn Grigor. Previously he taught at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin, Germany. Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (The Cliburn) is an American piano competition by The Cliburn, first held in 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas and hosted by the Van Cliburn Foundation. Initially held at Texas Christian University, the competition has been held at the Bass Performance Hall since 2001. The competition is named in honour of Van Cliburn, who won the first International Tchaikovsky Competition, in 1958. The Van Cliburn Competition is held once every four years, in the year of United States presidential inaugurations. The winners and runners-up receive substantial cash prizes, plus concert tours at world-famous venues where they are able to perform pieces of their choice. While Cliburn was alive, he did not serve as a judge in the competition, provide financial support, or work in its operations. The Colburn School is a private music school in Los Angeles with a focus on music and dance. It consists of four divisions: the Conservatory of Music, Music Academy, Community School of Performing Arts and the Dance Academy. It is located adjacent to the Museum of Contemporary Art and across the street from the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
