Food Network Asia
Food Network is a pay television channel that airs both one-time and recurring (episodic) programs about food and cooking from the Food Network's library as well as commissioned programming developed regionally. It was launched on 5 July 2010. The channel itself is not available in South Korea. But under a special agreement, Food TV (a nationwide pay TV channel) is carrying programmes from Food Network by simulcasting the pan-Asian version and airing the shows recorded from the channel in particular time slots. In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Food Network was a New Zealand pay television channel focused entirely on programming relating to food. It was based in Auckland and was New Zealand's only channel dedicated to the food, wine and restaurant society. The network never originated its own domestic content. The channel was launched on Sky on 1 November 2005 as Food TV by The Living Channel New Zealand Limited. The Living Channel New Zealand Limited, which owned Food TV as well as sister channel Living was acquired by Discovery, Inc. on 2 July 2014.
