David Aebischer
David Aebischer (born February 7, 1978) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League with the Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and the Phoenix Coyotes. He was a member of the 2001 Stanley Cup champion Avalanche team, becoming the first Swiss native to achieve the feat. Aebischer also played several seasons in his native Switzerland with HC Fribourg-Gottéron, HC Lugano and the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers of the National League (NL). Aebischer is currently a goalie coach for HC Fribourg-Gottéron. Playing career As a youth, Aebischer played in the 1992 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Switzerland. Mauro Jörg (born 29 April 1990) is a Swiss professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for HC Fribourg-Gottéron of the National League (NL). Leonīds Tambijevs (born September 26, 1970 in Riga, Soviet Union) is a former professional ice hockey left winger, currently serving as the head coach of Admiral Vladivostok in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Tambijevs began his career with the Dinamo Riga youth team. As a junior he played with several Latvian teams. He debuted at the USSR Tier III level with RASMS-Energo, but soon joined USSR top level team Leningrad SKA for the 1990/1991 season. He then returned to Riga where had played until 1995 with ex-USSR league premier level teams Stars Riga and Pardaugava Riga. Mika Juhani Strömberg (born February 28, 1970 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques as their eleventh-round pick, #211 overall, in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. After a ten-year career with Jokerit, he spent three years in Switzerland, with HC Fribourg-Gottéron and EHC Chur. After coming back to Jokerit for one season Strömberg again went overseas, this time to Stockholm and the Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Elitserien. Nino Niederreiter (born 8 September 1992) is a Swiss professional ice hockey winger for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Wesley Walz (born May 15, 1970) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and former assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Previously, he played centre for the Minnesota Wild of the NHL and served as team captain. Walz played in 607 NHL games in 11 seasons with Boston, Philadelphia, Calgary, Detroit, and Minnesota. He had 260 points (109 goals, 151 assists) and 343 penalty minutes and earned 40 career multi-point games. Tobias Stephan (born 21 January 1984) is a Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for Lausanne HC of the National League (NL). He formerly played for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League, Genève-Servette HC and EV Zug. Playing career Stephan was born in Zürich, Switzerland.
