Emma Lawson
Emma Lawson (born Jan 5, 2005) is a Canadian CrossFit athlete known for her achievements in the CrossFit Games, since her first appearance at the 2019 Games where she achieved a third-place podium finish in the Girls (14–15) division. In 2020 she placed 1st worldwide in the Girls (14–15) quarterfinals, but no Teens event was held at the games that year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After winning first-place in the Girls (16–17) division in 2021, she has competed in adult Women category, achieving sixth-place in 2022 and a second-place podium finish in 2023. In addition to the CrossFit Games, Lawson has competed in the CrossFit event held at the Rogue Invitational, with a third-place finish in both 2022 and 2023. 2023 CrossFit Games
The 2023 CrossFit Games is the 17th edition of the premier competition in the sport of CrossFit held from August 1 to August 6, 2023, in Madison, Wisconsin. The winners were Laura Horvath for the women's competition, Jeffrey Adler for the men's, and CrossFit Invictus for the team's. The qualification process for the 2023 CrossFit Games was adjusted this season, and a worldwide ranking of athletes was introduced for the determination additional qualifying spots for the CrossFit Games. 2024 CrossFit Games
The 2024 CrossFit Games were the 18th edition of the premier competition in the sport of CrossFit, that was held from August 9 to August 11, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. The competition was won by James Sprague and Tia-Clair Toomey for the individuals, Raw Iron CrossFit Mayhem Thunder for the team. The CrossFit Games were held in the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth this season after 6 years in the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Due to the excessive summer heat in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex which may be unsuitable for competitive sport outdoors, most of the events were held indoors. The 2022 CrossFit Games is the 16th iteration of the annual competition in the sport of CrossFit held from August 3 to August 7, 2022, in Madison, Wisconsin. Both Justin Medeiros and Tia-Clair Toomey repeated their 2021 win in their respective men's and women's competitions, while CrossFit Mayhem Freedom won the team competition. Laura Horvath
Laura Horváth is a Hungarian professional CrossFit athlete. She won the 2023 CrossFit Games, earning the title "the fittest woman on earth". She has also won two silver medals in 2018 and 2021, and a bronze in 2022. Horvath has a background in the sport of climbing, but later switched to CrossFit. She qualified for her first CrossFit Games in 2018, coming second at the Games and was named Rookie of the Year. After two years outside the top 10, she again came second in 2021 and then third in 2022, before winning the title in 2023. She also competes in weightlifting, has the national record for clean and jerk, and has won the national championship. 2023 Rogue Invitational
The 2023 Rogue Invitational is the fifth annual competition in CrossFit organized by Rogue Fitness and the 3rd to feature a strongman competition. It was held at the Dell Diamond in Austin, Texas from 26 to 29 October 2023. The Rogue Invitational also featured a Rogue Record Breaker event and a Legends competition for CrossFit veterans. The winners are Patrick Vellner for the CrossFit men's competition, Laura Horvath for the women's, and Mitchell Hooper for the strongman. The prize purse was at a minimum of $1,275,000, and reached over $1.6 million. The Rogue Invitational is an annual sporting event that includes a CrossFit competition and a strongman competition. The event, organized by Rogue, started in 2019 as a CrossFit sanctioned competition, but has since become a major competition for CrossFit athletes. A contest for strongmen that featured the largest prize purse in the history of strongman competition was added in 2021. 2020 CrossFit Games
The 2020 CrossFit Games was the 14th CrossFit Games held on October 23–25, 2020, at the CrossFit Ranch in Aromas, California, United States. Mathew Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey were again the respective winners of this year's men and women competitions The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 forced major changes to the Games season, including the postponement and relocation of the Games. The format was altered, and only 30 men and 30 women were invited to compete in an online-only first stage with the top five men and women qualifying for the final stage to compete in person.
