The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2013 (E3 2013) was the 19th E3 held. The event took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, with many press conferences taking place at nearby venues including the Microsoft Theater, Nokia Theater, Galen Center, and the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. It began on June 11, 2013, and ended on June 13, 2013, with 48,200 total attendees. The main highlights included details of two major next-generation consoles, Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4, as well as Nintendo's unveilings of ''Super Mario 3D World'', ''Mario Kart 8'', and ''Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U''. Los Angeles Convention Center
The Los Angeles Convention Center is a convention center located in the southwest section of Downtown Los Angeles, Downtown Los Angeles, California, United States. It hosts multiple annual conventions and has often been used as a filming location in TV shows and movies. History The convention center, designed by architect Charles Luckman, opened in 1971 and expanded in 1981, 1993 and 1997. It was originally built as a rectangular building, between Pico Boulevard and 11th Street (now Chick Hearn Ct.) on Figueroa Street. The northeast portion of the center was demolished in 1997 to make way for the Staples Center. The Convention Center Annex of green glass and white steel frames, mainly on the south side of Pico, was designed by architect James Ingo Freed. ''Ryse: Son of Rome'' is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Crytek and published by Microsoft Studios. Set in an alternate version of Ancient Rome, ''Ryse'' follows the life of the Roman centurion Marius Titus as he becomes one of the leaders in the Roman Legion. Gameplay revolves around Marius using his sword to strike enemies and shield to deflect attacks. Execution sequences are featured in the game, which are quick-time events that serve as an extension to combat.
