Divide Independent School District
Divide Independent School District is a public school district based in the community of Mountain Home in western Kerr County, Texas, United States. In terms of students served, Divide ISD is the smallest district in Texas; the 2015 "graduation/promotion ceremony" featured a mere 11 students and the district had as few as eight students at the beginning of the 2014–2015 school year. Divide ISD serves much of western Kerr County. Divide ISD is one of the few remaining schools called " one room schoolhouses" in the United States. Technically it is not a one-room schoolhouse according to a ''Texas Monthly'' article by Katy Vine, as the original school building – still in use – does not hold the pre-Kindergarten classes. State Highway 41 (SH 41) is a state highway that runs through the Texas Hill Country in Kerr, Real, and Edwards Counties. History SH 41 was proposed on April 22, 1919 as a route from north of Del Rio to Boerne via Rocksprings and Kerrville. On August 21, 1923, the designation was truncated to Mountain Home, with the section east of Mountain Home being transferred to SH 27. Juno Common School District
Juno Common School District No. 4 was a school district formerly based in Juno, Texas. It was a one room schoolhouse. Clippingfrom Newspapers.com. History A building with segregated schools for black students and white students - with 29 and 88 students, respectively, was active in the town in 1901. The school for black students was on a part time basis. In 1964 the student enrollment was 18. Circa 1976 the student body was typically around 7-13. The Allamoore Independent School District was a public school district based in the community of Allamoore, Texas, United States. The approximately district was known as the Allamoore Consolidated Independent District prior to 1992. History The one room schoolhouse was built circa 1910. In previous eras the school had two teachers and in later eras there was only one teacher who also did all administrative functions. Enrollment was determined by a fluctuating number of employees in area ranches.
