Donna Fox
Donna Fox (born 22 October 1984), is a British Women's International motorcycle trials rider. Fox was a member of the winning British Women's TDN team in 2006-2007 and 2015. Biography Fox finished runner up to Maria Conway in the inaugural British Women's Trials Championship in 2002, losing out by a mere 5 points. That year she made her international debut competing in both the FIM Women's World Trials Championship and as a member of the British team at the annual FIM Trial Des Nations, held in Portugal. She placed 6th in the World Championships. In 2005 Fox was again runner up in the British Championship, this time to TDN teammate Rebekah Cook. She rode with Cook again in 2006 as a member of the British TDN Team along with Maria Conway and lifted her first major silverware as the British Women's team took the title in France ahead of a strong Spanish team. Motorcycle Trial
Motorcycle trials, also known as observed trials, often called simply trial/s (with or without the plural "s"), is a non-speed event on specialized motorcycles. The sport is most popular in the United Kingdom and Spain, though there are participants around the globe. Modern trials motorcycles are distinctive in that they have evolved to become extremely lightweight, lack seating (they are designed to be ridden standing up) and have suspension travel that is short, relative to a motocross or enduro motorcycle. Motorcycle trials is often utilized by competitors in other motorcycle sports (such as enduro, motocross or road racers) as a way to cross-train, as trials requires fine throttle, balance, and machine control. Maria Conway
Maria Conway (born 19 May 1984 in Oxford, England), is a former British Women's International motorcycle trials rider. Conway was British Women's Trials Champion in 2002 and a member of the winning British Women's TDN team in 2006 and 2007. Biography Conway competed in the inaugural Women's World Trials Championship in 2000 placing 9th in the series. In 2001 Conway again competed in the World Championships, narrowly missing out on the podium finishing in 4th place, the top placed British rider in the event. 2002 was to be Conway's year, taking the first ever British Women's Trials Championship ahead of Donna Fox and placing 5th in the World Championships that year held in Portugal. The best finish in the World Championships for Conway was to come the following year in 2003 when she ended the season in 3rd place behind Laia Sanz and Iris Kramer at the event in San Marino. FIM Trial World Championship
The FIM Trial World Championship and FIM X-Trial World Championship are the most prestigious motorcycle trials tournaments of the world, organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme. The outdoor championship is held since 1964 and the indoor (X-Trial) since 1993. From 1964 to 1967 the championship was named Challenge Henry Groutards. From 1968 to 1974, it was the Trial European Championship, and from 1975 onwards it has been known as the World Championship. Up until 2010, the outdoor world trial championship has been won by 6 different pilots from the UK, 5 from Spain, 2 from Finland and France, and 1 from Belgium, Germany, United States, Japan and Sweden. Rebekah Cook
Rebekah Cook Talbot (born 3 August 1986) is an English woman's international motorcycle trials rider. Rebekah is nine times British Women's Trials Champion, winning in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2012, she was also European Women's Trials Champion. Biography Cook has been competing in the British Women's Trials Championship class since 2004 and won the championship in her first year. This started a six-year run of championship wins until she finished runner-up to Gas Gas rider Joanne Coles in 2010. In 2011 Cook was back to her winning ways, repeating in 2012 and 2013 until she was beaten in 2014 by current Women's World Champion Emma Bristow. Emma Bristow
Emma Bristow (born 29 October 1990 in Boston, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom), is an Professional motorcycle trials rider and 8 times Women's World Trials Champion. In 2014 Emma became the first British rider to win the Women's FIM Trial World Championship. She also won the Women's FIM Trial European Championship in 2013 and the British Women's title in 2014. Biography Emma began riding at the age of 4 and became a four time British Youth Champion. She started her international career at the 2006 World Championships, riding to 9th place in the Andorra round at the age of 16. Competing on a Gas Gas Emma contested the European and World rounds over the next few seasons. Emma signed for the Ossa factory in 2011 and rode to runner up position in the World Championships, a result she repeated in 2012. Sherco
Sherco is a French motorcycle manufacturer, specialising in off-road motorbikes. Sherco are best known for their extremely popular trials bikes, although they also make enduro and supermoto bikes. The company was founded in 1998, and currently has two production facilities. A factory in Caldes de Montbui, Spain, some north of Barcelona is where the company's trials bikes are manufactured. Enduro and supermoto bikes are built at a factory in Nîmes, France. The name, Sherco, derives from the amalgamation of two words, Bultaco and Sherpa, that harks back to the company's origins. The Barcelona factory, that was founded in 1998, specializes in the trial category, while the French factory, which was established in 2003, specializes in the rest of the production. Montesa Honda
Montesa Honda is a subsidiary business of Honda, which assembles several models of motorcycles and bicycles in Barcelona, Spain. It was formed in 1944 by Pere Permanyer and Francesc Xavier "Paco" Bultó. The business was Spanish-owned until entering into an association with Honda. Permanyer and Bultó Their first Montesa prototype was based upon the French Motobécane models of that time. Permanyer began to produce his own gas engines, which allowed for a new area in motorcycles to be explored and expanded into. Permanyer and Bultó teamed up in Barcelona and created a light-weight motorcycle. This led to the creation of a bike powered by a 95cc two-stroke engine with no sprung rear suspension. Gas Gas is a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer established in 1985 by Narcìs Casas and Josep Pibernat in Salt, Girona. The company specializes in off-road motorcycles for trials and enduro competitions. Gas Gas was purchased by KTM motorcycles in 2019. After the sale to KTM, Gas Gas's off-road models were purchased by Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Rieju. Company history In 1973, Narcìs Casas and Josep Pibernat began operating a Bultaco motorcycle franchise in Salt. With the financial demise of the Bultaco factory in 1979, Casas and Pibernat began importing Italian SWM motorcycles until 1984 when, the manufacturer ceased operations. Casas and Pibernat then embarked on a programme to manufacture trial motorbikes for sale in their shop.
