Corporate Registers Forum
The Corporate Registers Forum is an association grouping the corporate registries among the countries of the Commonwealth of Nations. The membership is open to government agencies and their officials responsible for the administration of body corporate registers (a register of companies for example). The associations' aim is to provide members with the opportunity to review the latest developments in corporate business registers internationally and exchange experiences and information on the present and future operation of corporate business registration systems. The focus of the initial meetings was in the Asia-Pacific region. The forum first met in Auckland in 2003 and was hosted by the New Zealand Companies Office. Port Louis
Port Louis (french: Port-Louis; mfe, label= Mauritian Creole, Polwi or , ) is the capital city of Mauritius. European Business Register Network
The European Business Register Network (EBR Network) is a network of trade registers kept by the registration authorities of several European countries, managed by the European Business Registry Association. The EBR was developed as a part of the fully integrated approach of the European Commission in the legislation designed to achieve regulations to promote transparent financial markets and to facilitate free movement of companies. The EBR has served as a starting point of the Business Register Interoperability Throughout Europe (BRITE) project which developed an interoperability solution BRIS for Business Registers to interact across the European Union. BRIS makes it possible to obtain comparable, official company information from the countries connected to the network. OpenCorporates
OpenCorporates is a website that shares data on corporations under the copyleft Open Database License. The company was launched on 20 December 2010, by Chris Taggart and Rob McKinnon. Recognition In 2011, the site won third place in the Open Data Challenge. Vice President of the European Commission Neelie Kroes said the site "is the kind of resource the (Digital) Single Market needs and it is encouraging to see that it is being built." The project was represented on the European Union's Core Vocabularies Working Group's Core Business Task Force. In early 2012, the project was appointed to the Financial Stability Board's advisory panel on a Legal Entity Identification for Financial Contracts.
