Carol Smillie
Carol Patricia Smillie (born 23 December 1961) is a Scottish television presenter, actress and former model. Smillie became famous as a presenter on British TV during the 1990s and early 2000s. She was best known for assisting Nicky Campbell on the UK version of the game show ''Wheel of Fortune'' between 1989 and 1994. Between 1996 and 2003, she was the main presenter on the BBC One home makeover show ''Changing Rooms''. After leaving the Glasgow School of Art, Smillie was a model throughout the 1980s. Her break in television came in 1989 when she auditioned for the role of hostess on ''Wheel of Fortune'' After leaving the show in 1994, Smillie appeared on the BBC television channel, firstly as a reporter on ''The Travel Show'', and then the ''Holiday'' show, eventually becoming the programme's main presenter. Matthew David Cutler (born 30 October 1973) is an English dancer and former World Amateur Latin-American champion. He was a professional dancer on the BBC dancing show '' Strictly Come Dancing''. Early life Cutler was born in Chelmsford, Essex. His brother designs all his clothes, personal and professional. When he was four, his family moved to Southend on Sea, Essex, where he went to Earls Hall Primary School and Cecil Jones Secondary School, now Cecil Jones Academy. He started dancing classes in a church hall in Southend and took part in school competitions and other competitions in Chelmsford. ''A Brush with Fame'' is a British lifestyle game show that aired on ITV from 10 October to 4 November 2005 and hosted by Carol Smillie. Background The programme series was initially piloted by Granada Television using the name Celebrity Face Paint. Format The series took place in each of nine UK regions involving 900 contestants. One hundred people in each of the regions were given half an hour to produce a self-portrait using materials supplied by the programmers. Then, while the artists took a break, Carol and the two judges, Christian Furr and David Lee looked at the painted pictures and chose twenty five people to go into the next round and paint a celebrity guest.
