Call (band)
Call () is a Pakistani rock band from Lahore, Pakistan. The current line-up was formed in 2002, the group consists of Junaid Khan (lead vocalist), Zulfiqar J. Khan (lead guitar, producer) and Muhammad Sultan Raja (rhythm guitar). Call's musical style has remained predominately alternative rock, with some commercial mainstream ballads centered on Junaid's powerful expressive vocals, melancholic soundscapes, intricate guitar riffs and iconic drum beats. Their lyrics, often embellished with imagery, focus on themes such as identity, patriotism and longing. Popular for their live performances, the group have staged several lighting sequences and powerful drum sections. The band became noted for their refusal to adhere to traditional pre-recorded performances, and generating the #Asliwalalive (meaning "the real live") a nod to their live and electrifying performances. The rise of musical bands in Pakistan began in the 1980s when cassettes first came into Pakistan bringing in a wave of Western rock music. Western-influenced rock music began to feature in underground concerts all across the country. In the 1980s, rock bands Vital Signs (band), Vital Signs and Strings (band), Strings rose in defiance of the authoritarian regime and gained immense popularity amongst the youth. Sharoon Leo
Haroon and Sharoon Leo (born July 27, 1993), professionally known as Leo Twins, are Pakistani musicians and multi-instrumentalists. Leo Twins started their career in popular TV show Nescafé Basement. The twin brothers have been a regular part of the house band in Nescafe Basement produced by Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan. The 2010 ICC World Twenty20 was the third ICC World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in the West Indies between 30 April and 16 May 2010. ''Dhoom'' (Urdu: دھوم, literal English translation: "blast") is the second studio album by the Pakistani rock band Call, released in January 2011. The album included the singles "Laree Chootee" (from ''Ek Chalis Ki Last Local''), "Yeh Pal" (from '' Aasma: The Sky Is the Limit'') and "Dharkay Jiya" (from ''Aloo Chaat'') which featured in several Bollywood movies as soundtracks.
