College Basketball Crown
The College Basketball Crown (CBC) is an American men's college basketball tournament promoted by Anschutz Entertainment Group and Fox Sports. The inaugural tournament was held in March and April 2025, at two venues on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada: T-Mobile Arena and MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Nebraska Cornhuskers captured the title. Selection process Two automatic qualifiers from the Big East Conference, Big Ten Conference and Big 12 Conference, as well as ten at-large teams, will be selected from the pool of teams that did not qualify for the NCAA tournament. The Vegas 16 tournament was a postseason men's college basketball tournament. The tournament was managed by Lexington, Kentucky-based sports marketing firm bd Global. CBS Sports Network was announced as the television partner for the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds. Former UNLV and Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood was the chair of the tournament. 2024–25 UCF Knights Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 UCF Knights men's basketball team represented the University of Central Florida during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, marking their second season as members of the Big 12 Conference. The Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings are a series of predictive ratings of men's college basketball teams published free-of-charge online by Ken Pomeroy. They were first published in 2003. The sports rating system is based on the Pythagorean expectation, though it has some adjustments. Variations on the Pythagorean expectation are also used in basketball by noted statisticians Dean Oliver and John Hollinger. According to ''The New York Times'', as of 2011, the Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings have a 73% success rate, which is 2% better than the Ratings Percentage Index. 2025 NIT
The 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) was a single-elimination tournament of thirty-two NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not selected to participate in the 2025 NCAA tournament. The tournament commenced on March 18th and concluded on April 3rd. The first three rounds were played on campus sites, with the semifinal and final rounds played at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Six programs made their debut in the NIT: Cal State Northridge, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, Northern Colorado, Samford, and UC Riverside.
