Coen Verbraak
Coen Verbraak (born August 14, 1965 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch journalist and television producer and presenter. Interviews Verbraak has worked as in interviewer for various media, including the Dutch magazine '' Vrij Nederland''. As of 1997 he is also active in television. He made the program ''Achter de lach'' (literally "Behind the laughter") for Dutch television, showing the life behind the scenes of Dutch cabaretiers. In 2009 he created the program ''Kijken in de ziel'' (literally "Gazing into the soul"), a series in which prominent people from a specific occupational group are interviewed about their work and their life. In 2014 the documentary ''Getekend, veteranen in therapie'' (literally "Marked, veterans in therapy") was released, in which Verbraak spent a year following veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder as they undergo therapy at Landelijk Zorgsysteem voor Veteranen (LZV) (literally "Dutch national care system for veterans"). Cabaret
Cabaret is a form of theatrical entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama. The performance venue might be a pub, a casino, a hotel, a restaurant, or a nightclub with a stage for performances. Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental and behavioral disorder that can develop because of exposure to a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, warfare, traffic collisions, child abuse, domestic violence, or other threats on a person's life. Symptoms may include disturbing thoughts, feelings, or dreams related to the events, mental or physical distress to trauma-related cues, attempts to avoid trauma-related cues, alterations in the way a person thinks and feels, and an increase in the fight-or-flight response. These symptoms last for more than a month after the event. Young children are less likely to show distress but instead may express their memories through play. ''De Wereld Draait Door'' (; English: "The world keeps on turning") also known by the acronym DWDD was an early-evening talk show on Dutch television, broadcast every weekday at 7:00 p.m. on NPO 1. It is the Netherlands' longest-running, regularly scheduled TV entertainment show and is also the program with the second-highest viewing figures on Dutch television, beaten only by the main evening news at 8.00 p.m. The show, created by Dieuwke Wynia and produced by BNNVARA, was discontinued after the last episode on 27 March 2020. Zilveren Nipkowschijf
Zilveren Nipkowschijf (; "Silver Nipkow Disk", named for German television pioneer Paul Gottlieb Nipkow) is a Dutch television award that has been given out since 1961 by a selection of Dutch critics. The three founding critics were Henk Schaafsma of NRC Handelsblad, Hans Keller of Volkskrant, and Han G. Hoekstra of Het Parool. In 1975, Stichting Nipcow was founded and became the official foundation to award the Zilveren Nipkow. Tom Smeets of De Gelderlander has been the chairman of the foundation since the start. In 1996, the foundation started awarding the Zilveren Reissmicrofoon to the best Dutch radio show. In 2003, the foundation introduced a new award for best multimedia presentation, which was named the Zilveren Prichettprijs (named after Harry Prichett). Sonja Maria Barend (born 29 February 1940) is a Dutch television personality and former talk show host. Her talk show ''Sonja'', which she presented since the 1970s, was noted for breaking taboos and allowing ordinary people a voice in public dialog. She retired from television in 2006, after four decades of television making. Barend has worked for television since 1966. From the late 1970s on she presented her own weekly talk show for the (socialist) VARA broadcasting organization, a show whose name was based on the day of transmission, e.g. ''Sonja op Maandag'' ("Sonja on Monday").
