Coahuila State Government Palace
The Coahuila State Government Palace (Spanish language, Spanish: ''El Palacio de Gobierno de Coahuila''), also known as Pink Palace (Spanish language, Spanish: ''Palacio Rosa'') is a building located in Saltillo, Mexico. It serves as the state government building of Coahuila and it is a part of the state's capital. The Neoclassical Architecture, neoclassical structure holds seats for designated executive offices. The palace is nicknamed "Pink Palace" due to the pink color of the quarry sandstone. The building sits in the Plaza de Armas central square and right beside the San Esteban de Nueva Tlaxcala (Santa Cruz) fountain. The palace has 3 floors including several halls and an exhibition which visitors can enter without fee. Saltillo () is the capital and largest city of the northeastern Mexican state of Coahuila and is also the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name. San Esteban De Nueva Tlaxcala
San Esteban de Nueva Tlaxcala was a Tlaxcalan municipality in what is now the Mexican state of Coahuila. San Esteban was the northernmost of the six Tlaxcalan colonies established in 1591 at the behest of the Viceroy of New Spain, Luis de Velasco; its founders came from Tizatlan. In 1834, San Esteban was merged into the adjoining city of Saltillo. On the sparsely settled northeastern frontier of Mexico, menaced by hostile Indigenous people (Indians), the Tlaxcalans were allies of the Spanish settlers against the Indigenous of the region, but also stood apart with an independent society. Alberto del Canto (c. 1547 – 1611), formally Alberto Vieira do Canto, was a Portuguese noble, military captain, and conquistador who explored northern Mexico, where he was the founder of several cities.
