Change.org is a website which allows users to create and sign petitions in an attempt to advance various social causes by raising awareness and influencing decision-makers. The site is a US-based for-profit company and claims to have 551 million users as of April 2025. Petitions often focus on causes such as general justice, economic justice, criminal justice, human rights, education, environmental protection, animal rights, cyber bullying, health, religious freedom, and sustainable food. The site also provides support and coaching for organizations and paid members to help further advance their causes. Ben Rattray
Ben Rattray (born ) is an American entrepreneur who is the founder and is the CEO of the online petition website Change.org, which he founded in 2007. Rattray was included in the 2012 ''Time'' 100 list of the world's most influential people, listed as one of ''Fortune''s 40 Under 40 rising young business leaders of 2012, and given the Commonwealth Club of California's 21st Century Visionary Award in 2014. Personal life Rattray was born in Santa Barbara, California. At Dos Pueblos High School, Rattray was "sporty and handsome" and "a homecoming king". He wanted to grow up to be an investment banker, then retire at age 35 and go into politics. Darren Haas
Darren Haas (born 1974) is an American software engineer and executive at General Electric, where he heads the Engineering group at GE Digital. He is a co-founder of Change.org and was a principal engineer at Siri, acquired by Apple. Education Haas received as B.S. in Software Engineering from California State University, Chico. Career in software engineering Before joining General Electric, Haas led a team that developed the cloud platform at Apple. Haas came to Apple by way of its acquisition of Siri, where he built early prototypes of the NLP engine and was co-founder of the Siri architectural platform. Adam Cheyer (born c. 1966) is a co-founder of Siri Inc. and formerly a director of engineering in the iPhone group at Apple. Early life and education Cheyer attended Sharon High School, in Sharon, Massachusetts.
