The Central Committee of German Catholics (, ZdK) is a lay body comprising representatives of various Catholic organisations in Germany. They organise the Catholic Days in Germany. The organisation is headquartered in Berlin. Its predecessor, the Catholic Society of Germany (), was founded in 1848 by Charles, 6th Prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, who served as its first President. In 1952, it was renamed the Central Committee of German Catholics. In 2000 a conservative organization, the Forum of German Catholics, was founded in opposition to the committee. The Forum of German Catholics () is a conservative Catholic lay organization in Germany. It was founded in 2000 in opposition to the Central Committee of German Catholics. The German Bishops' Conference () is the episcopal conference of the bishops of the Roman Catholic dioceses in Germany. Members include diocesan bishops, coadjutors, auxiliary bishops, and diocesan administrators. Synodal Way
The Synodal Way ( or ''Synodaler Weg'', sometimes translated as Synodal Path) was a series of conferences of the Catholic Church in Germany to discuss a range of contemporary religious, spiritual and theological and organizational questions concerning the Catholic Church, as well as gender issues and possible reactions to the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Church in Germany. The Synodal Way commenced on 1 December 2019 and finished on 11 March 2023.
