Cartoon Network is a Philippine pay television channel operated by Warner Bros. Discovery under its International division, which primarily shows animated programming. The Philippine version is a branch of Cartoon Network Asia and broadcasts exclusively in the Philippines. The channel started broadcasting on October 6, 1994, as part of Cartoon Network Asia. It was later separated from the Southeast Asia feed on September 1, 1995. In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Turner Classic Movies was an Asian digital classic film channel featuring commercial-free classic movies, mostly from the Turner Entertainment and Warner Bros. film libraries, which include many MGM titles. Following a revival in the late 1970s, new shorts were released as recently as 2014. The two series introduced a large List of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies characters, cast of characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird and Elmer Fudd. The term ''Looney Tunes'' has since been expanded to also refer to the characters themselves. ''Spike and Tyke'' is a short-lived theatrical animated short subject series, based upon the English bulldog father-and-son team from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's ''Tom and Jerry'' cartoons. The characters first appeared in the ''Tom and Jerry'' series in the 1940s. Only two films were made in this spin-off series: ''Give and Tyke'' and ''Scat Cats'', both made and released in 1957, and produced in CinemaScope, as the cartoon studio shut down the year the spin-off series was started. Homer Brightman wrote both the episodes. The cartoons were produced and directed by ''Tom and Jerry'' creators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, and were among the last of the original MGM theatrical cartoons made. Droopy
Droopy is an animated character from the golden age of American animation. He is an anthropomorphic white Basset Hound with a droopy face. He was created in 1943 by Tex Avery for theatrical cartoon shorts produced by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio. Essentially the polar opposite of Avery's other MGM character, the loud and wacky Screwy Squirrel, Droopy moves slowly and lethargically, speaks in a jowly monotone voice, and—though hardly an imposing character—is shrewd enough to outwit his enemies. When finally roused to anger, often by a bad guy laughing heartily at him, Droopy is capable of beating adversaries many times his size with a comical thrashing.
