Benoni S. Fuller
Benoni Stinson Fuller (November 13, 1825 – April 14, 1903) was an American educator and politician who served two terms as a U.S. Representative from Indiana from 1875 to 1879. Biography Born near Boonville, Indiana, Fuller attended the common schools, and later taught school in Warrick County. He became sheriff of Warrick County in 1856 and 1858. He served in the Indiana Senate in 1862, 1870, and 1872, and served as member of the Indiana House of Representatives 1866-1868. Congress Fuller was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-fourth and Forty-fifth Congresses (March 4, 1875 – March 3, 1879). He was not a candidate for renomination in 1878. Later career and death He then engaged in agricultural pursuits in Warrick County. He died in Boonville, Indiana Boonville is a city in Boon Township, Warrick County, Indiana, United States. The 45th United States Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, consisting of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It met in Washington, D.C. from March 4, 1877, to March 4, 1879, during the first two years of Rutherford Hayes's presidency. The apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives was based on the Ninth Census of the United States in 1870. The Senate had a Republican majority, and the House had a Democratic majority. The 45th Congress remained politically divided between a Democratic House and Republican Senate. The Indiana House of Representatives is the lower house of the Indiana General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Indiana. The House is composed of 100 members representing an equal number of constituent districts. House members serve two-year terms without term limits.
