''Broken Silence'' is the third studio album by American rapper Foxy Brown, released on June 5, 2001, by Violator and Ill Na Na Entertainment; distributed under Def Jam Recordings. The album debuted at number five on the ''Billboard'' 200 with first-week sales of 131,000 copies. It has been certified gold by the RIAA for shipments of 500,000 copies in the United States. Background Foxy Brown began recording a more street-oriented album, much different from her mainstream image with '' Chyna Doll''. It was rumoured to have many features including, Nas, Ice Cube, AZ, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Haifa Wehbe and Amr Diab. The song "Na Na Be Like" was nominated for a Grammy in 2003, two years after its release. Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand (born September 6, 1978), known professionally as Foxy Brown, is an American rapper. She signed to Def Jam Recordings and released her debut studio album ''Ill Na Na'' (1996) to critical and commercial success. Carlton Errington Grant (born 30 May 1969), better known as Spragga Benz, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay. Career He began his career around 1991. He was once known to his friends as "Spaghetti" (tall and slim), but this was later shortened to Spragga. The Benz in his name comes from the sound system for which he used to work for, L.A. Benz, and it is through this that he found his way into the music industry at a dubplate recording session with Buju Banton. The famed elder DJ was slated to do four tracks for L.A.
