Bohdan Levkiv
Bohdan Levkiv ( uk, Левків Богдан Євгенович; 22 February 1950 – 25 November 2021) was a Ukrainian politician. He served as mayor of Ternopil from 2002 to 2006. Ternópil ( uk, Тернопіль, Ternopil' ; pl, Tarnopol; yi, טאַרנאָפּל, Tarnopl, or ; he, טארנופול (טַרְנוֹפּוֹל), Tarnopol; german: Tarnopol) is a city in the west of Ukraine. Administratively, Ternopil serves as the administrative centre of Ternopil Oblast and has the status of city of oblast significance. Located on the banks of the Seret. Until 1944, it was known mostly as Tarnopol. Ternopil is one of the major cities of Western Ukraine and the historical regions of Galicia and Podolia. It is served by Ternopil Airport. In many countries, a mayor is the highest-ranking official in a municipal government such as that of a city or a town.
