"Big Bad Mama" is a single by American rapper Foxy Brown (rapper), Foxy Brown and American contemporary R&B, R&B group Dru Hill from the How to Be a Player (soundtrack), soundtrack to the 1997 film, ''Def Jam's How to Be a Player, How to Be a Player''. The song also appeared on the European re-issue of Foxy Brown's debut album, ''Ill Na Na''. The song, which was produced by the Trackmasters and based on an interpolation of Carl Carlton's "She's a Bad Mama Jama", became a semi-successful hit, peaking at 53 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, Foxy's second highest charting single as a solo artist. The single was released with the then recently reunited EPMD's "Never Seen Before" as the B-side. Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand (born September 6, 1978), known professionally as Foxy Brown, is an American rapper. She signed to Def Jam Recordings and released her debut studio album ''Ill Na Na'' (1996) to critical and commercial success. The album peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, received RIAA certification, platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), sold over seven million units worldwide, and was supported by the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100-top ten single "I'll Be (Foxy Brown song), I'll Be" (featuring Jay-Z). Carl Carlton (born May 21, 1953) is an American R&B, soul, and funk singer-songwriter, best known for his hits " Everlasting Love" and " She's a Bad Mama Jama (She's Built, She's Stacked)". Background Carlton was born in Detroit, Michigan, and began his career in the mid-1960s as "Little Carl" Carlton. It was a marketing ploy to capitalize on some vocal similarities to Stevie Wonder, who recorded under the name "Little Stevie Wonder" in the early 1960s. His first recordings were for Lando Records, for which he recorded some minor local hits, including "So What" and "Don't You Need a Boy Like Me". In 1968, Don D.
