Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon
The Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon is a series of international longboard racing events. Each race is on course on a skateboard that must be pushed by foot. The event is owned and operated by Adrenalina / Nata Media Inc. History The first Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon took place on November 6, 2010, at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. One hundred and twenty-five people participated in the event and there were three hundred people total in attendance. A large international field was drawn, due to the fact it was the largest prize purse to date, including a ten thousand dollar grand prize. Jeff Vyain was the first winner of the event. Skateboard
A skateboard is a type of sports equipment used for skateboarding. They are usually made of a specially designed 7-8 ply maple plywood deck and polyurethane wheels attached to the underside by a pair of skateboarding trucks. The skateboarder moves by pushing with one foot while the other foot remains balanced on the board, or by pumping one's legs in structures such as a bowl or half pipe. A skateboard can also be used by simply standing on the deck while on a downward slope and allowing gravity to propel the board and rider. Hallandale Beach, Florida
Hallandale Beach (formerly known simply as Hallandale) is a city in southern Broward County, Florida, United States. The city is named after Luther Halland, the son of a Swedish worker for Henry Flagler's Florida East Coast Railroad. As of the 2010 census, the population was 37,113. Jeanne Frances Loring (born May 4, 1950) is an American stem cell biologist, developmental neurobiologist, and geneticist. She is the founding Director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine and emeritus professor at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California.
