Ada Solomon
Ada Solomon (born 3 June 1968 in Bucharest) is a Romanian film producer who is behind over 60 movies. After first working in marketing, she turned to media companies in 1993 and produced her first film ''Asphalt Tango'' in 1995. In 2004 she created HiFilm Productions where she has worked with directors including Franco Zeffirelli. Solomon was the Romanian executive producer of the highly successful co-production ''Toni Erdmann'' (2016) directed by Maren Ade. Early life Born in Bucharest on 3 June 1968, Solomon graduated from the city's Ion Creangă High School. In 1991, she graduated in environmental engineering from the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest, Bucharest Construction Academy. Andrei Toncu
Andrei "Otto" Toncu (April 8, 1978 – August 25, 2006) was a Romanian sound designer. Biography Andrei Toncu was born in Bucharest. He graduated from Bucharest University for Theater and Film (Film and TV Department, Multimedia, Sound and Editing) in 2000. His final project short film, ''Free Fall'', directed by Dorin Stana, received the best sound award at the International Student Film Festival CineMAiubit in Bucharest (2000). After graduation, Toncu worked with film and TV sound for Antena1 and B1TV Romanian TV channels. He also worked as an independent filmmaker. In 2004, Toncu went to Chicago to work on the thriller ''To Kill a Killer'', which was directed by Ricardo Islas. Toncu was responsible for all aspects of sound on the English and Spanish versions of the movie. It was released on DVD by Warner Bros in June 2007. Cristian Nemescu
Cristian Nemescu (; 31 March 1979 – 24 August 2006) was a Romanian film director. Nemescu was born in Bucharest. He graduated from the Academy for Theater and Film in 2003. During his final year in the academy he made a short film, ''Story From The Third Block Entrance'', that received awards at the NYU International Student Film Festival and the Premiers Plans in Angers, France. The European Academy Awards nominated it as "best short film" that year. Nemescu's '' Marilena from P7'', which he wrote and directed, entered in the 2006 Cannes competition. Nemescu's last film was '' California Dreamin' (Endless)'', starring Armand Assante. He finished filming in July and was in post-production at the time of his death. ''Callas Forever'' is a 2002 biographical film directed by Franco Zeffirelli, who co-wrote the screenplay with Martin Sherman. Nae Caranfil (; also Nicolae Caranfil) (born 7 September 1960) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. Career Born in Bucharest, Nae Caranfil is the son of important Romanian film historian and critic Tudor Caranfil. He graduated in 1984 from the Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography (UNATC) in Bucharest, where he has also taught as a professor. In the beginning of his career he directed only short films: ''Venice in September'' (1983), ''Thirty Years of Insomnia'' (1984), and ''Backstage'' (1988).
